I’m sure AA may have some elderly friends, but I believe he was just offering clarity regarding my post to you. It was me who was inquiring about your book for an elderly friend of mine. Anyway, thanks for the viewing information you gave to Arnie…I will pass it along to my friend.
BTW, and in the meantime, if you have a copy of the discontinued book lying around the homestead you wish to sell, drop me a PM and we can talk.
Range Rat
Thanks for speaking highly of me and also it was nice of your friend Arnie to forward your true intention so the misunderstanding was resolved. I hope now concentration is on what i have to offer to the golfing community with regard to Moe Norman and the swing he taught me that i can demonstrate and explain.
ABS Module 8 students might want to take notice of this photo… good stuff.
The right foot down is something that must be trained rather than done. It creates a situation where the torso has to get busy working post impact so the shaft doesn’t flip release due to a stalling pivot. This was the first thing I noticed Greg doing correctly when I first saw him performing Moe’s protocols unlike many of the knock off Moe followers out there on the web and so forth.
Greg,
I am sorry to read about all of your troubles. I thought your book was very good and I look forward to your next one. Thank you for all of your time, effort and thoughts in trying to help all of us here at ABS.
Range Rat,
I live in Commerce Twp. If you want to borrow my copy for you and your friend to read, let me know.
That’s a very nice offer RD. I’m going to just tell the old crusty one about Greg’s channel on YT so he can go see what’s up, and I’ll also let him know about the book’s legal issues and the possibility of a future release. I think he’ll enjoy watching the YT channel I found the other day…should keep him occupied for quite some time.
Cool to hear you live in Commerce Twp. I had to look it up however, as I forgot or didn’t know actually where it was -although I certainly heard of it before. That’s high rent district out there…me I live in the low rent district If you ever decide to “slum it” next summer look me up…the range rocks will be on me.
Hi everyone…reading over the last few pages, Greg reveals to us all, one of the reasons why Moe picked him to give his knowledge to. They both say it like it is. No time for B.S.
As range Rat’s post implies, there are many people out who claim to have knowledge on Moe and his swing methods and they are in a position to define what is truth and what is not.
Because Moe is such a icon, anyone who met him or watched one of his clinics are always jumping to the head of the line to proclaim “I know Moe”
I’ve met several of the them myself when they come up to me at the range and want to tell me about Moe’s techniques.
I have read and watched every piece of information available on Moe and I can asure you…Greg is the the only person who knows Moe’s method.
I have been very blessed over the last 2 years. I have been Greg’s student and have learned and been taught more than I could have hoped for.
If anyone is serious on learning how to hit a golf ball pure, Run… don’t walk…and ask Greg for the opportunity to be his student. I promise you, if you are willing to put in
the work,great things will happen.
Forgive me if I asked this before and if it has been answered.
Moe said something like …“my swing balances me, I balance my swing.” Did he ever explain to you what he meant? Can you expound?
My thought is this…most of us cannot balance on a bicycle if it is not moving, but can do so once it starts rolling. Maybe this is the gyroscopic principle. Is Moe referring to a similar thing related to the golfswing? Does acceleration, and not just motion cause and enhance this effect?

You are on the right track. Also Lag would know this.
Moe Norman would say " my swing balances me"
How this works is starting with good solid foundation in set-up with weight on the heels. Good rotation on the back swing to allow the golf club to transition properly. Since the weight is on the heels encourages a sitting position in the batters box and continuation to generate the flow as you keep moving through the entire swing. A combination of staying centered in the batters box and continuation to a high finish produces great balance. With the proper sequence of motion as Moe drilled into me this allows his swing to balance him. Neither Moe or myself ever think of clearance as it always happens naturally on its own accord finishing with the stomach facing the attended target with the weight transfer totally shifted balanced and supported by the left foot and right toe. This simplifies it though there is another approach what Moe meant by " my swing balances me" that i would like to reveal in my future book. GL
Hope this has been helpful
Thanks
Greg Lavern
I was looking at the 1st video: “moe norman caddy view - driver” within the “moe norman film footage” thread in the moe norman section of the vault and noticed something interesting about his foot action. his right foot rolls on to the inside (M2 squeeze) between 23 - 25 seconds and then between 25 - 29 seconds of the video rather than maintaining that angle and then moving up to the finish, his sole flattens out again as if he’s trying to keep his foot flat on the ground.
whatever is going on, it must be a sign of the great force that is being generated by his feet. it’s as if he is squeezing the right foot inwards (horizontal pressure) and then back outwards the other way.

Announcement:
The Graves and Natural Golf have taken over the The Real Moe Norman website thanks to the writer Patrick Cunningham who we had to dismiss as a director from his fraudulent activities against the company, Lawson and myself with regard to the book. Just another screw up from Cunningham that did not register the The Real Moe Norman name that Lawson and myself called the book and never told us until yesterday. There is copyright on the book but the domain name apparently was not protected and Graves went in front of a California judge to acquire The Real Moe Norman name with a legal letter sent to Cunningham. I don’t know how true this is as i don’t believe a word Patrick Cunningham says, how could i since this writer told lies to both Lawson and myself through the entire book process. Is all we can do is check out legally since the company owns the website but apparently not The Real Moe Norman name. If you click into The Real Moe Norman it displays a bunch of Graves Golf School and Natural Golf crap. I guess Graves is trying to corner the market or requires our followers of the The Real Moe Norman since he realizes that his teachings for years is as phony as he is.
I am starting the organization, writing and preparation of my new book immediately with my original writings from The Real Moe Norman book and brand new information and insight that i have never reveled to the public. It will be the superior book on Moe Norman’s swing that he taught to me . The book will also include his last and most important secret told only to me.
You can view GREG LAVERN videos now at www.youtube.com/user/trueswinggolf?feature=mhee
My videos are there for your viewing along with items posted on Lag’s forum that will serve the purpose as I move forward to organize and write the new book with other projects planned to compliment it. www.gothamblog.com check it out as i was interviewed on skype.
I guess you could say i am disappointed in the lost of the book The Real Moe Norman as it took five years of my life. Though GOD has now opened the door and made me more determined than ever to utilize my knowledge from the Master ball striker Moe Norman since i was his choice who he reveled his most secretive information on his golf swing. From what i learned through this process i will cross the T’s myself on the new book and never again rely on the word or promises of someone else. The one thing that i have is the knowledge in my head along with a golf swing many have said the closest to Moe Norman in the world that will make the book successful and no one can take that away not even the phony promoters of Moe Norman’s golf swing. Once the new book is available for sale everyone will have access to the golf swing Moe Norman taught me and certainly not disappointed.
Very sorry to hear of your troubles. It is always frustrating when the trust of an honest man is taken advantage of (see: Wall Street bankers). You have my sympathies…and assurance that I will be in line for the first edition of your next book! Happy Holidays…
Greg Lavern - my father-in-law told me that there are rarely bad business ideas/deals…just bad business men. Keep your integrity as regardless of the success that a person with a broken moral compass achieves - their actions only reveal low character, lack of honor and many other personal weaknesses that no amount of money will ever purchase.
Though I’ll be honest…lines like the one below scare the hell out of me:

I don’t know who your reference with regard to integrity and low character is? The only one involved in the book process that displayed lack of integrity and low character was the writer Patrick Cunningham and is why the book is not available online. So yes, i will agree there is only bad business men. My lesson learned is to stay away from these type of people.
As far as the integrity of myself and Lawson Mitchell it was maintained through the entire process and both contributed and complied with everything ask of us and never with held information as the writer did that caused the removal of the book.
My knowledge and ability was utilized from my long golfing relationship with Moe Norman where I was provided with knowledge that know one else knows. Particularly two of Moe’s most important secrets besides all the general stuff that everyone elaborates on with little understanding what he actually did to achieve real purity hitting the golf ball. Even when i came out with the first secret in the Real Moe Norman book where the left palm goes to the right heel when the vertical drop takes place there were people that would say , “Oh ya now i remember that” Ha ha ha! sorry not in this lifetime. Even Paul Bertholy who modeled his book around Hogan did not know this or mention when he described the vertical drop when the transition in the golf swing takes place. And yes, the most important secret of Moe’s purity has not been reveled as i am the only one that he told and can explain it. So don’t be scared because the truth will set you free when i come out with it in the (new book new product) that i am now dedicating my time to. I will organize, write and prepare the book for a credible writer-editor and publisher in total confidence with the same integrity I have always maintained from the time Moe Norman decided to provide me with all his knowledge and taught me to move and swing just like him. I now know why Moe Norman was so secretive to me with the knowledge on his golf swing provided to me that very well could relate to the approach Ben Hogan took for his exceptional ball striking that the rest of the world just does not know. All the promoters of the Moe Norman swing have never ever mentioned anything i know and i am totally confident the “only one that knows.” I gave the important first secret in the first book and got little appreciation except the few that recognized this as extremely important knowledge to the golf world. I guess you could say despite the lost of The Real Moe Norman book that Greg Lavern was smart enough not to give away the farm. The people that think there is no secret are very much mistaken. Maybe nothing of importance to reveal in the conventional golf swing as they keep going over the same things I knew twenty five years ago with nothing new only different approaches to make money. My insight and knowledge from Moe Norman is based on how to hit the golf ball pure the way the greatest in world did it.
Don’t you think that someone that hit 800 balls a day and played four balls a hole in Canada and United States with a very close personal relationship with this master ball striker would be given knowledge unknown to the rest of the golfing community? I guess i have two choices to provide this information to help all golfers that want to really know how to hit the golf ball pure or take it to my grave. I have decided to write an entirely new book and product for publication and on completion if given the right deal and my knowledge is not taken advantage of as was with The Real Moe Norman book I will make a decision to release or keep the knowledge myself that was a gift from Moe Norman.
I guess for all the non-believers they will just have to wait for the purchase of the new book. I still maintain I am the only one that really knows beyond anyone else out there promoting Moe Norman’s swing and holds the knowledge of an important secret never reveled. The public should be glad there is someone alive that has this knowledge since Moe Norman passed away and unfortunately without me or my cooperation it would be lost forever.
Greg–I think you have shown beyond any doubt, that you are sincere and as far as I’m concerned you are the keeper of the flame of Moe Norman and how he became one of the greatest ballstrikers ever. But please, get yourself the best legal counsel going forward (able to represent you both in Canada and U.S.) and make damn sure everything is buttoned down. Don’t let any publishing house, no matter how reputable, tell you they have your best interests at heart–they don’t and won’t.
Also expect that the person you had trouble with writing the first book as well as the organization that bought the real Moe Norman naming rights will come at you again after you publish. Be prepared to battle and having a good attorney in your corner will allow you to sleep at night. And if you have things Moe told you that no one knows about his golf swing, I would think long and hard before releasing any of that information. Publish your second book, see what crawls out to attack you, and then decide how to proceed. All the best to you, Greg, and put me down for a copy of your new book when it comes out.
I thought I was clear with my anecdote, but my point was to move forward and forget about that low-life Cunningham. And Paul C is right…you’ll have to protect yourself.
My issue with the “most important secret” business is that phrase is used so often in marketing (especially golf) that it automatically makes my b.s. radar activate. I’m not by any means stating that you don’t have unique knowledge of Moe Norman…only pointing out that making that statement elicits that response from me.
