that makes tight golf courses looks wide open.
Will try to post some photos for you and the forum to see.

I viewed the exceptional book review you wrote and posted about The Real Moe Norman book and informed the other author Lawson Mitchell immediately. We are both appreciative for your book review that was really well written. It was so great to have someone as knowledgeable about the golf swing to put forth your high recommendations to the public how inspirational and helpful the book will be to anyone that purchases it. I must say your students are so fortunate to have someone teaching them with your expertise. It is so gratifying that a tour winner and player on the Canadian and Austrailan tour has layed out clearly the importance of this book to the golfing community. Lag you truly understand how fantastic The Real Moe Norman’s golf swing is and his ability with hard work to become one of the greatest ball strikers in world, if not the best from your personal experience with The Real Moe Norman when playing the Canadian Tour.
Thank you Lag, this exceptional book review is much appreciated by both Lawson Mitchell and myself.

A drill The Real Moe Norman and myself did was to strike two golf balls at the same time that would make you strive to hit through the golf ball with a square face to keep you low and long down the line.
Lots of fun.
thanks
Greg
Curious what would happen?
Would the first ball nick the top of the second before the club got there?
Could you get the club on both balls?
Where is the high speed camera?
To John Lag Erickson,
from: Greg Lavern
Yes most of time i hit both balls straight since my face stays square long beyond impact though i have had the second ball sometimes fly off to the side but still would hit both balls on the club face.
Remember it is only a drill to have that feeling that when your hitting your normal golf shot it feels like you could hit two balls. During the summer some swing sequence pictures will be taken for my next project and i will see if i can get some in high speed
shots hitting two balls for you to view.
Thanks
Greg

Greg, you ever teach guys in the states at all? I’ve talked with Mike Maves on the phone several times and had arranged for him to come and help me out a few years ago but just didn’t happen. I’ve tried everything with the golf swing to make it more efficient because I believe pure ball striking over everything else than these stupid mechanics. I’ve spent countless amounts of money on teachers and nobody can really help, I am a person that won’t stop until I achieve satisfaction. Ive also found (due to being a formal baseball player) I tend to swing in to out and want to extend my arms which causes me problems and I like to use the club as a pendulum even before finding Moe Norman and his story. So this fits me well, but I’m always looking for people to show me a better way. Thanks.
Jeff,
Anyone that needs to know about my teaching ability can contact a student i taught that hired my services for a week paying my flight , expenses and teaching fee. I got him hitting the ball the best he ever hit it and still is a year or more later.
His name is Tim Lynch email timmlynch@hotmail.com
I hope to be teaching in Florida USA in the fall as there has been many requested from all around the world for one on one lessons to learn to hit the ball pure the way Moe taught me. In the works. Also my partner Lawson was a professional baseball player with the white socks organization in his younger years and relates to baseball very well. In the batters box was used between The Real Moe Norman and Lawson where Moe passed it on to me during our practice and playing sessions.
Thanks
Greg
Greg,
I found this attachment from a website proclaiming they teach the Moe swing…you know the one…Moe taught me this etc etc… i found it very interesting that they mention Moe never wanted to feel the club behind him in this article/discussion
If that was the case why do we see these photos I have of Moe demonstrating what he feels as he is approaching impact…he states this in many of his videos also.It sure looks like the club is or wants to feel like it is coming from behind him by looking at these pics. I am sure you will have the best reply to this question from your time spent with Moe.
I have attached a few different pics …2 of them from the same day in the 80’s (I am presuming) and one of Moe later in life in his Natural Golf phase (probably late 90’s?)…I make mention of that as the photos are probably 10-15 years apart by time frame yet he is showing the same thing…so obviously he never had a rethink or a change of heart about this feel as he did it for some time…yet the TG piece above tries to tell otherwise…unless I am misinterpreting what he is trying to say…
Those first two pictures of Moe are vintage stamps.
The hands and arm package are loaded for sure. Maybe holding the club cross-handed would be a good idea for some to sense what that feels like. Look at where the sun casts the hand’s shadow in the second picture…they are above his head
Moe showed me many times how the club works behind him. One of his favorite drills was to drag the clubhead along the ground for 42 inches before it would start up and work behind him on the backswing. I don’t know where people come up with this other stuff.
what were the things of moe’s that you most ‘adopted’ as a result of your time with him, especially considering he CF ‘swung’ the club and you CP ‘hit’ the ball? were you still swinging when you knew him or had you changed to hitting by then? what were/are the things you disagree with moe on?
it’s great from both a ball-striking perspective and from an historical one to have access on this website to those who knew him so well (both lag and pure spice)…
this is actually a great question for pure spice as well: what do you think are the most important components of moe’s technique and how have you adapted, added, or improved on his technique over the years? thanks!
