Arnie,
Your welcome. Those are some fantastic classic clubs you got. Those persimmons are especially nice and those PCs are real classics. I’m glad they finally showed up at your door in good order. Let us know how the Texan goes once the weather gets better and your able to get out there. Enjoy them.
I have to assume you have a “golf room” of sorts in the AA casa. Surely all of your vintage purchases haven’t been relegated to the garage! I’d like to make a motion that you provide pics of said room. Anyone want to second the motion?
Thanks Bent Thanks Feddie…I can’t wait for them to get here they are going to be my full time gamers.
Arnie I just love all of your stuff mate. Some great persimmons there. I intend to point my Mrs to all of your purchases when she starts questioning mine.
Yeah, I was walking through a bunch of display homes the other day with the wife and kids, and this is scarily close to how one of the homes was decked out. Sufficed to say their clubs were all plastic, god damn it!!! Hmmm, plastic persimmon clones, reminds me of my first set of clubs…
I’'ll probably make another thread about this, but this guy Anth and I just bought some clubs off, is selling his entire collection, and everything so far looks like this, barely hit, or at least professionally refinished, beautiful blades.
Around 2000 irons, 400 persimmons, 40 putters. He has mostly Wilson, Macgregor and Hogan irons, not sure about the rest, a lot of stiff shaft clubs from what I’ve seen. He is keen to avoid ebay if anyone here wants a set, and he seems happy to sell sets for $99, and a little more for special stuff.
He wants one buyer (so AA’s house could really look like that soon), but obviously accepts that’s not going to probably happen, so is starting to sell off his collection on ebay.
If you have been after anything in particular, PM me and I’ll put you through to him, but I’ll try to get him to accurately catalog a price list if he can, and get it up on this site soon.
I’d just hate to see this quality equipment go anywhere else.
Just thinking he might indeed be the same guy that was selling the sets you see in Arnie’s post, if my memory serves me well that was an Ebay ad that LCD brought up…
$250… I used it today. It is phenomenal. It is one of the original ones before they made them in Oregon. It is used but in great shape with no holes. I cannot wait for the summer to come around.
… and I’d like to know the location of said room and the dates and duration of Mr and Mrs Arnie’s next holiday!
Great collection Arnie! Fantastic stuff…
