Come on, RR, you know how this works… it’s there right in front of you if you just know where to look
Cheers, man, I figured you’d appreciate that one…
The recent absence of your Rat sniffer has been noted, btw…
Lag,
To be honest, I contemplated not posting that photo, but what they hell, we’re among friends. Anyway, I don’t think the world would be ready to have those kinds of things unleashed on it, it’s too busy with it’s shiny toys, and I don’t think they’d really know what to do with it anyway…
Though, having said that, you can feel free to take it down
Btw, I didn’t get the MC Escher reference so I looked it up… and what’s very interesting/cool is I often think of those paintings while trying to get a clearer picture in my mind of the golf swing… there’s so much of that stuff going on that it can really get the head ‘spiraling’---- that head spiraling joke just never gets old for me…
Cheers…
I see it…it’s on the outside of the right leg. When I first looked at it I didn’t see the Escher relationship. I was thinking that it was something like that image in which depending on how one stares at the picture…you can either see a young beautifuf women or an old bag lady. That “old lady” drawing might have been an Escher…but probably not.
Been busy for a while…selling some antiques on an antique forum…was pretty comfortable navigating that site as it is set up almost exactly like Lag’s…and I’ve learned a lot here. Made life easy…and check this out. That site even taught me how to post pictures…which is way cool. I’ll have to take a picture of something and post it here…maybe MY 7I and we can compare to Lag’s 7I…I might be one groove higher…and Dr. Lag can diagnose.
I will most certainly post a picture of the inside of our “pro-shop” next spring…you guys won’t believe it…it looks like a bunch of rats live in it…both literally and figuratively. RR
Yeah…I saw it after the trusty old red pill. I was trying my best for a cryptic way to say I found it. The nose is the midline between the upper and lower pant belts. I think from the movie “Rudy”, his father said upon entering Notre Dame stadium…this is the most beautiful thing these eyes have ever seen.
Well…it’s not the most beautiful thing…but it’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen…along side of Hogan’s Mod 3. Lots to be said not only from that Helix-Hogan interlude…but from Bom’s creative side as well.
Hey eagle…wish I did have your visual acuity for green reading…as it is part of the game that still baffles me most of the time. I can sniff my way to the green…but once there, I lose track of the cheese’s smell RR
That’s the one Twomasters… hiding right there in plain view…
It was weird when I put them together the other night, and that face popped out. I’d been thinking about the concept for a while but imagining it in different scenarios. As I was putting that together, I kept having to crop more and more bits off each end of the midsection to get them to blend- not to mention twisting my head around to follow the spiral(teaching moment!!.. I just caught that!)… I had to flip over some of them to keep the spiral going which speaks to 1T and his thinking on the spiral appearing from many different angles. So, like I said, when the face popped out, I did a double take and then lock all doors… it scared the shite outta me… not really, but that sounds funny. It was definitely ‘a moment’ though. I’d seen it in my mind a lot, it’s the same thing as that moving bridge video that Eagle posted a long time ago- four corners twisting around a mid point, they could twist back around but the mid point stays fairly constant, though it has to be really strong to stabilize it all. You can see it when you’re running- it doesn’t matter what side of the stride you’re in, your mid point barely moves, regardless of how fast you’re running. In fact, I speculate that the middle is more stable the faster you go- and there’s more than one chicken and egg in that story. There’s also an ‘eye of the storm’ moment in it all though… lots to say about all that stuff… must get coffee…
Still have the Helix-Hogan interlude on my mind…won’t go away…so, a few thoughts.
It’s kinda easy, for me anyway, to see shoulder movements and leg movements within the helix on both sides of the ball…and the inward pressures accomplishing that close to the central axis…amazing stuff. I guess one without a good “feelings” base about how things feel when coiling…the Helix would not necessarily make much sense when looking at it pictorially. However, I think it is a very good “minds eye” intention…maybe even the ultimate intention!
I’ve been messing around with it without actually hitting anything…but the movements are really nice and seems to contain an energy about it that wants to unload into, or by, something…as long as the Helix stays intact from beginning to end. I especially like the feel when “lowering” from the top with the emphasis on keeping the Helix intact…or, in other words, staying inside the frame structure of the Helix. It feels like the hand of the Almighty is pushing down on a big spring and loading it to get to an inside curve as momentum is building in a downwards fashion. Used to think a lot about springs…but only as an intention from the top…whereas the Helix intention creates the moves from the beginning to the top and back down and through the other way. It’s also pretty cool to keep the Helix intact after impact…hard to put into words.
If I can become a tree…I can become a Helix.
Zepplin missed the boat…should have been sprial stairway to Heaven.
Again, great stuff Bom…a flip of the flat cap to 'ya… RR
Good thoughts, RR, I like where you’re going with some of that. I would have to say that whatever the almighty might be, we’re a fair ways down(pardon the pun) the long and winding road that leads to it’s it door. Couldn’t resist bringing in a little Beatles insight to join the LZ party…
Re: The Sunburst logo…
I have spent some time looking at that after you talked about it, trying to figure out how soon the white coats are going to be Knock Knock Knocking on your door(sorry, once I start with that stuff…) and what I will say is that there are aspects of it that don’t necessarily need to be there. The little outcrop on the H for example, and the B has something about it that could be analyzed. The other thing as that they’re in a different style to the B and H from his signature so you could ask why that is…
Or it could be just complete madness… though there is a saying about that…
Cheers
BOM
That’s what I noticed also…how the “B” and the “H” for the sunburst are different styles than all the other Hogan signatures…always wondered why that is…but I stopped watching and wondering because I always feel like someone is watching me… and I got no privacy.
They’re coming to take me away…to where life is beautiful all the time.
Have a computer tech question for you on the PM side…thanks RR
There is no doubt that a good golf swing is happening more in a 3D spiral than a 2D flat plane… if you want to be good.
If I can get the head of the club to drop down low and behind me, then whip it around low flat and through the strike zone, with gear set up to match that action, then low - left- and around… then up… you basically end up with a something that feels and looks like you are swinging inside a conch shell.
Pure sacrilege! Just like Charlie don’t surf! Page and Plant don’t golf. Led Zeppelin sang about wicked, naughty women and the things they put men through… Heavy, hard blues stuff, man.
Though they did say that the… “Soul of a woman was created below”… it’s not a bad swing thought. Plus, in golf, there are “lots of people talking, and few of them know” this to be the case. Lots of Dazed and Confused golfers wandering around aimlessly…
I gave Roger Waters a golf lesson at the Crown and Anchor pub in Las Vegas one night… absolute truth. He’s a complete golf nut. Definitely the most famous guy who ever bought me a bottle of Watneys. I’m thinking about 1998.
You guys all know I’m in the movie “Ocean’s 11” right? Flashback scene #2, from lunch at Rubens scene.
Not sure this relates to the Fibornacci sequence, but who knows, it might… these are two pretty big coincidences. Zero pre meditation here.
