It’s ride baby ride, not ride baby ride.
Thought I would venture over to LBG forum the other day to see if I could find the discussion about Lag’s action as was described in the ABS forum: Is This Module 1?
I couldn’t find it at LBG, nor did I want to register there just to be able to use their “search” funtion. So I just started to randomly click on different topics to see if a rat could get lucky. No such luck!
However, on one of those random clicks I came onto a page with a post from someone named Range Rat —but it was posted a long time ago.
Anyway, and for the record, I’ve only ever logged onto one site and this one is it.
IOZ turned me on to a free Paint.Net program and I’m having a little fun this morning before I have to fix the kitchen faucet before Mall Rat gets home
Remember the old phrase regarding plane lines and shafts so popular with TGM: “It’s always pointing at it, or parallel to it.”
Some may enjoy this excursion into red pill land, others won’t, as it does use lines and such…and I agree with Lag that there are no straight lines, flashlights, and all that stuff. But…when standing on a range mat, most people square it up to the target line.
However with just a little movement of the mat 90* clockwise, there are some very interesting lines within motion.

Any coincidence that Hogan primarily wore three colors as his standard dress…and the fact that the argyle pattern, which generally has three colors within a cross-diamond pattern, was originated in land of golf- Scotland.
Do the three balls represent colors and the four balls represent the argyle pattern as a whole.
And, Hogan was a very quiet and unassuming dresser…he thought that wild patterns or colors would be mentally distracting while playing so I doubt seriously he would wear them while playing. Searched YT extensively and couldn’t find any action photos with him wearing argyle. I found one still photo that might be fun to look at as he’s giving another hint?
That argyle pattern kind of looks like a redpill range mat
And here’s the still photo I found, courtesy of Texas Flood on YT…and at that is not really quite an argyle pattern…but an intriguing pose.
Well let’s see…red pill range mat…a circle with rounded inside corners…all within an argyle pattern…hmmm.
Should read:
Ever heard the story of SRV busting the neck of a 12-string acoustic in half while playing? That takes some pretty strong paws. I play a lot of guitar, but mainly as a way to pass the time between sun down and sun up when I can be hitting golf balls. I do feel like SRV is closer to hitting than swinging than most are because you are really digging in and working the strings hard with big bends ( and he played insanely heavy strings, similar to stiff & heavy golf clubs??). AC/DC has the same effect, just wailing away at open chords. If you were to try and play some Steve Vai type stuff, you NEED oily joints, so to speak. Speed on guitar demands loose fingers and wrists, and a much lighter touch.
This has to be the best version of this song I’ve ever heard/seen. Is it really possible that this was a ‘new’ song at some point? Surely it’s always been there…

I read in an old interview in GQ that Neil Young called that Unplugged his biggest musical failure, saying that there was no planning and he didn’t even prepare a setlist. He hated it so much that he got a full band and redid it as an hourlong that eventually was released without any acknowledgment that the first solo show ever happened. I always liked the first show more myself and there seemed to be moments when he was on his way to a very different place. Very similar very cool transcendent experience happening, I felt the same thing with Michael Stipe when REM did ‘Fall on Me’. It’s too bad MTV doesn’t do music anymore the whole Unplugged series was so good.
Great tune Bom…oh, and did I say great tune?
NO need for any red pills to feel this one…
RR,
You never told us Scotty designed a putter just for you this year…
In case you don’t already have one and wanted to place a bid.
When I heard it it became a favorite song almost immendiately…and loved the harmonica…went out and bought the 8-track tape to play in my “OldsmoBuick”. What a flood of memories from those days; good ones.
Don’t discount red pills. They can be ground up and, along with your favorite hardener, be used to make a red persimmon insert.
Or be used as backdrop lighting for some mighty fine stuff.
Sounds like WABX has moved to San Fransico’s rat dropping area…

And speaking of red pills…remember Hogan saying the plane shift is to the right coming down.
I’ll get back later with more thoughts on this.
Ok…back in the Rat Lab. This stuff is fun for me. Don’t get me wrong, this is not just an exercise in drawing lines…although I’ll have to admit to myself that my skill level with this Paint program is increasing. It’s a ton of fun. I may never pick up a club again and just play with this art program.
Anyway, here’s kind of what I’m getting to. Point #2 on the diagram would commonly known as P1- where the large white line is parallel to the dotted white line. Although I should have actually put the white dotted line as the upper most white line of the white box. Oh well…no one’s perfect, but the white dotted line will do for now.
Now this is where it gets interesting. The old phrase of “it’s either pointing at it, or parallel to it, come into play when discussing the clubshaft and it’s relationship to “the plane line”. The large green line ( which is the 1/4 way back position ) is in some camps not parallel to anything yet…they would say it " is still pointing at it”. But, it really is parallel to the green dotted line. So. this may speak to shorter overall hand travels, as the green line 1/4 way back both points to and is parallel to the plane of the overall motion at the same time- which is the dotted green line.
This is intriguing to me because we play baseball on and within a “diamond” and we “circle” the bases.
That’s enough for now…as you might imagine this is very difficult to describe.
One of the related images juggling around in the vast emptiness of my mind is building a large perfectly square box…large enough to totally swing within and with infinitely high walls. I suspect pure curvilinear motion will be only be allowed within the green box…which is really off plane from the white box…like Lag says: being off plane.
Interesting logo for sure!
Mighty Mouse,
Do you order those red pills from Canada? Get a price break?
:open_mouth:
Hey Hawg and Bom…is this a Rounders field and has it changed over the years. I’ve never heard about the sport until today. I understand Ireland is the point of origin?
