Post Your Swing!

One day sniffing around YT I saw a guy, don’t remember now if he was just a random or some teacher on a channel, but it was the same mountain background, and I remember thinking maybe you knew him.

Not a posted swing but an 8iron I used for about several weeks a while back. What you guys think, too high on the face. I think it could be little high but my divots are real shallow and small with minimal toe down, so I must be in and out quick during the strike would be my guess.

Might work on posting some swings in the spring, chipping first.

Really like ur move :+1::+1::+1:

Nice one piece takeaway rerouted to 4:30 and no flip !!

Well done imo. Looks like u can play into ur senior.

@Slinger72

RR - that was probably Zack Allen. He was one of the teaching pros at De Bell where I played. He moved his operations out to Valencia in Santa Clarita Valley. Decent guy and was pretty knowledgeable on the swing.

Thats some good thought’s Slinger. I have been a thrower and keeping that right arm in place is a great key. I have been more left sided with the orbit pull and ur post lit the light bulb thx :+1:

Your discussion reminds me of this…

I can do this in slow motion at home.

And it all links up so naturally.Just can’t seem to get it on a real golf course. For me being a life long hitter (to early in my swing). My thoughts have to change to one small paragraph Brad had in one of his ebooks about Hogan.Mr Hogan felt like his hit and speed happened hip high follow thru.Where 99.9% of us amateurs feel that hit motion and speed motion almost immediately once we take the club back.If we can all get that hit urge even a fraction later in our swings.I guarantee handicaps would drop almost immediately. Now a days peoples lifestyles are all fast paced… get it done and focus on the other million obstacles. It’s all go go go go.The equipment has been made now to accommodate that lifestyle as well.If you really want to get good at this game. The swing has to feel turtle slow in many areas. You don’t hit the gas petal until the ball is gone.Wish I had more time to work on this. But golf really isn’t even a blip on my radar most of the time

@Slinger72 Nice :+1: I liked what BH said about the last quadrant. When I get on the course thinking of the last quadrant past the ball makes me do it right beforehand. It gives me a place to go. It also allows target focus instead of ball focus which creates tension .

This is the genius behind the new loop in Module 1 2.0. You can’t be accelerating the forearm rotation too early if they are looping open in the opposite direction.

I’ve only managed some backyard impact bag drills since my last range session. Family life and work is busy.
See if you can spot any differences.
I felt like I had made massive changes, lol. Tough to change years of habits…granny steps in the right direction….:golf:

Looks like ur right side is more active and keeping the pressure in the shaft. Looks like ur compressing it better and facing the target more without the arms crossing over.

Looks like a stronger move :+1:

Thanks. I’ve just been doing some module 1 & 2 drills with the impact bag.
At the range I tried to hinge my wrists a little more on the backswing, then basically apply what the drills were teaching me.
I’m definitely rotating my body better through the shot, although it’s hard to tell in still frame pics.
Striking is improving all the time :blush::golf:

Maybe in sync more now. Original your upper half never separated from your bottom half. Never letting you sling it low and left. Now you have a little more separation . But need more

My daily stretching routine involves putting on my socks and tying my shoelaces :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I’ve always moved my lower body a little slower than I’d like, worse as I’ve aged. Doesn’t help that I may be part sloth :rofl:

Get yourself some metal spikes even if it’s just for the range. That will help your Mod 2 even better and help you engage your core. When you get to Mod 3 it will make a huge difference as you will want anchors for your feet.

@ayersjj I’ve thought a lot about going into the industry again, if anything…just for tourney reps. Seems that is the only thing missing at this point. I had no problem winning at the Am level, city at least, when I was playing every week.

I just don’t like the fact that you have to pay annually to get training you’ll never really use, PGA of America is what it is. Honestly, let me pick balls, wash carts and play free golf…

$5K in “training” annually when you make $10/hr doesn’t add up so well.

I did the teaching thing in AZ a few years back…no one ever puts in the time, and are nothing but excuses at the next lesson. I’m a workaholic, with no kids…my ego couldn’t handle it. Maybe I’d be more patient now that I’m 40.

So, asst pro is probably gonna be my last option…even if the reps seem enticing.

The dakotas tour is nice from what I’ve heard. I did some work in Minot, ND when I was in the Air Force…not really excited about going back. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: Especially with 15 events within a 500 mile radius of Denver annually. If someone is paying me to travel, fine…on my dime, I like to keep my travel reasonable for budget purposes.

Texas has the APT…like the dakotas in the south/midwest. They both have small sponsorships now, so entry and payouts are better ratios. I’ve played in enough mini tours to know that’s not the right move for me though.

This is my second career. I spent my first 15 years in military communications and IT. 60hr weeks as an officer were typical, not to mention the deployments. I’m trying to slow down a bit, actually enjoy this journey. I’ve put too much pressure on myself in the first 5 years…it’s finally just a game again, and I’d like to do my best to keep it that way.

Thanks for your insights though…it is always appreciated and cherished. The game has changed a lot over the years.

5k a year for training? That’s ridiculous!!! Sounds like a scam to me. My dues were paid by Valhalla in 87’ but I bet they were like 100.00 bucks. I did the players test to go thru the pga stuff, but my teacher was Jimmy Ballard and he refutes pga teaching of cemented pivot. He never joined pga nor did I for reasons they taught flaws imo. But, a club pro ends up watchn everyone else go play. I am 60 and play probably 150 rounds a year. As a club pro ur lucky to get 1 round a week and sometimes thats on Monday in a sectional tourny. Not a good way to go imo if u want to be a player.

A range job sounds pretty good. Especially if its tied into free golf. Pinehurst NC is always looking for folks :blush:

I don’t think it’s a scam, it’s system. By design, gotta oil yourself I guess…just sad to see kids in a golf management program who think they’ll get to play a lot. Played with a solid scratch player the other day in a PGM program. He was actually looking forward to taking care of a golf course, like a family. I thought that was promising…
