Here are my Haig Ultras. Not sure what year they are but damn they are heavy. Come with Pro-Flex S shafts.

1930s Wilson R-90

Pyratone shaft, leather grip. Crazy heavy.

Can’t wait for the rain to let up so I can get this sucker out on the course!

New flat stick just landed. My normal putter has always been the odd man out in the bag since it’s the only thing I play with that’s even close to a modern club. This one’s gonna fit in a lot better. Hopefully the last person who was using it left some magic in there for me.

Looks fantastic. I use a modern putter design as I struggle on the greens greatly and it’s helped a lot. But it does look odd when the test of the clubs are vintage.

I picked up these beauties tonight. Stiff shafts, 3-pw, and very good condition. The grips are a mess but I need to replace them and add weight anyway. Love the head shapes of the Wilsons except that the 8 iron looks a bit odd. Cost $48 for these and I’ll keep them for years.

Oh dude those are sweeeeet. What a steal!

I can’t believe I’m posting this but will someone PLEASE buy this set of irons so I don’t have to? They really should go to someone here at ABS that will hit them flush and do them justice instead of ending up in eBay purgatory or even worse, getting dusty hanging on the wall in someone’s man cave.

Great muscleback design with the weight all stacked up right behind the sweet spot. Heavy, stiff Pro Pel #1 shafts. Faces are still in amazing condition. Even the ferrules are in perfect shape ffs…

Lag calls holding shaft flex “the holy grail of golf” and he has also said on this very forum that the Pro Pel #1 is “the holy grail of vintage shafts”.
I would swap those grips out for full cords but that’s about all they need. Bend them flat to your liking.

I have too many nice sets that don’t see the course enough but I swear if nobody here pulls the trigger on these pretty soon I’m taking them myself.

$130 is highway robbery. Criminal. If any of you guys are in or near Indiana, you should pick them up in person and give this dude the heavy handshake with a neatly folded $100 bill in there as a tip to cleanse your soul and make it right with the universe. Maybe then the spirit of Byron Nelson will bless you with unlimited pure contact and all the tap-in birdies you’ve always dreamed of.

Please don’t make me steal these from you. I don’t need them but I kinda need them…

Greatest SW ever made….

Great set…. those ceramic faces have a great feel to them. These vintage sets are so much better than anything out these days. These are true forged heads, not the cast heads of today that they say are “forged” only because of the carbon content in the casting. The don’t have the same vibration..

Yeah I was interested to hear what you thought about the ceramic faces. Good to know! I’ve hit Colokrom copper faces before and they’re awesome, but have still never struck a ball with ceramic ones.

Ceramic faces and overall steel quality offer an outstanding feel.

Just picked up a set 2-PW of mid sixties Macgregor M2 CF4000 irons. Thinking of throwing some x100’s in them. Will search through the forum but would appreciate some guidance regarding re-shafting ie. pins, ferrules, epoxy etc… I found the ABS club specs. Also purchased two persimmon drivers and have enjoys playing with them, especially the red one.

Nice irons. Now that you’ve joined the club remember when asked why you play antiquated, or low-tech gear, the correct response is ‘because I can’. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Can be very difficult to remove the shafts, always seems to be at least one that won’t come out. Good luck if you try it.

Thanks. They look amazing. I forgot how good it felt to pure a persimmon driver. The new irons are a good bit shorter in length but I hit them good in a nice tight pattern. I find I have more control over my game not hitting it as far. I may not go back to the new stuff.

Just got a 1, 2, 3, and 4 of a laminated version of the 693T’s. I don’t mind the laminated ones and they’re much cheaper, of course. They were refinished at some point. The driver shaft was unfortunately replaced but the 2-4 have the original shafts from the 50’s. Need to get them set to my specs before the spring.
