Go get em boys…I know they are laminated but could be a fun boring out flattening project and add your own colour.

Some PT2 irons also

Check out how flat these things are bored. Mehlhorn said golf should be played from a 45 degree angle. You get the feeling he had something to do with the design of the heads here rather than some MIT scientist creating clubs in a wind tunnel and then having the company work with a players agent to get an endorsement deal to etch their name onto a club they had zero to do with.
Might be fun pair of persimmons to own. Certainly historic and probably pretty playable with just a bit of work.
Look like M85s, but are stamped with the Toney Penna “TP” instead of the m85 and are in the original box!!
Anyone from Milwaukee might want to follow this up:
OMG! The thought of those woods being chopped up and used in a craft project just ran a chill down my spine. ![]()
Can’t we save the children (err I mean woods)? ![]()
Yup, 90 odd iron sets and 200 woods
The original poster has put some pics up on the thread now of some of this haul. Seem to be many Mac and Wilson iron sets @ $10 per set. Destined for the chop shop in under 2 weeks. Borderline criminal ![]()

please do yourselves a favor and check out this gentleman’s auctions. he’s selling extremely nice condition equipment he received when his father passed. I made offers on some woods for half the asking price and he accepted. Very fast responses and says he has tons more. From our email exchange I was told his father would travel around with the tour and trade clubs with the pros.
Some great sets in there…
thanks for posting
not bad for my first post eh? Hahaha…I really really need to go over my budge because this guy has got many more gems. He’s new to ebay but he seems very trustworthy. I purchased a set of woods, can any one help identify? Lag? I know it was dumb for me to purchase before knowing what they were but honestly I did not expect him to accept my offer. Now I want more.
does anyone play these:

i’ve bought from this guy before as he is local to me so i save on shipping. normally i would just spend the $30 bucks but
i’m starting to pile up sets so i’m trying to be a little more picky…
thanks,
Kirk
Those are a great set. Looks like they have #2 shafts in them. If you can find the ones with #1 shafts, those are ideal. Those could be tipped and extended and make into #1’s. They are the same shaft, just tipped stronger in the #1’s at the factory.
The only drawback of converting or tipping the shafts would be that you would likely lose those cool ferrules. Tough to save them when pulling the shafts and getting them off while heating.
I found this wedge on ebay wondering if anyone knows anything about it…
i’ve got those m85’s in my bag right now, although 2-9. i think they are around 1953 vintage.
they are an awesome set if you can get the whole bunch of them.
the heads are tiny with the thickest topline i’ve ever seen.
i need a wedge for the set but no way i’d spent $25 on it.
