Where the hell does that guy in Hawaii get all these sets from?? Every couple of weeks he’s got more stuff I’ve never seen in person in my life. The religious guy who puts Let Jesus into your heart in all the listings too. Thes guys are pulling sticks out of a time warp or something.
I’m going to try my best to get these Hogan IPT’s (cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi … 0388120054) since I lost out on those Hogan Percussions. If I for some reason can’t get those, I’ll probably get the Hogan Starburst Apex’s that the seller from Hawaii has up.

Something seems dodgy over at that religious guys site, I can’t quite put my finger on it. I was close to pulling the trigger on a set with him a couple of months ago and something didn’t seem right. Not including those old vintage boxes makes makes me smell fishy… purely my paranoid opinion though. I also don’t buy that Ken Lay is dead is what does that tell you
I don’t know what to make of what. I got a Wilson BeCu wedge from somebody a couple months ago cause I’d never seen that head in copper before. I only paid like five bucks for it, but when I got it the shaft wasn’t epoxied, just stuck in there. Then it snapped like a twig in the bender. My guy knows what he’s doing, I trust him with anything but that head was junk. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a copy, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just a bad Wilson head either. Guess you just have to be comfortable rollin the dice when you buy anything online.
I picked up a Bobby Grace Amazing Grace putter from him this past fall. The high MOI model but with the white HSM insert… pretty unique. Good price and it seemed like the real deal - used it a bunch late in 09. (Too bad I can’t use it in Vegas next week… probably going out there with a “George Nicholl Pinsplitter #9” instead).
R3J - if I didn’t have more vintage iron sets than I knew what to do with you might have some competition for those Starbursts. Don’t see too many popping up on ebay and it’s got a nice clean look.

Cool. I’m glad there’s a good tale to tell about that guy- I was feeling a little slanderous.
BOM,
To clarify… I got that putter from Pineapple Golfer in HI. Not sure if that’s who you were referring to or not. I’ve seen some of the gear that one seller has that all have the “box not included”. Always seem to get too pricey for me.

Another cute play on ebay is when the seller uses multiple accounts to drive the price up himself. After a while you can smell when it’s happening.
Interesting- no I was talking about the religious guy. Thanks for clarifying. Yeah this guy has a load of vintage boxes that he he always puts in the photo wont send with the clubs- and he can make clubs because he offered a Hogan tribute Cammeron knock off with a set of early Hogan blades. Makes me think he can make more than putters…

Any of the more knowlegeable afficionados have an opinion on this driver (hope the link works). Only its seems a high start price to me? Also, any of you guys in the UK bought from this particular buyer - they seem to have cornered the market for persimmon/blades!
If only I had kept all the sets I chopped and changed when I was younger! Decided to try and get in the act after looking at the great stuff you guys are posting on the ‘ebay purchases’ thread.
Cheers.
Hi ZachsDad,
Yes I have bought from this guy before - Justin from Brighton if memory services me correctly. Mainly positive I got some nice Pennas from him myself. I did buy some Maxfli Pro Special woods from him that turned out to have neck cracks and he wasn’t immediately responsive but we got there in the end. So all in all a cautious thumbs up.
Cheers, Arnie
Nice, have contacted buyer and he’s willing to ship to Australia. All the other left handed links posted recently were very tempting, but none of them want to deal with Australians.
Are these worth looking into:

They don’t want to ship to Australia, but I’m considering trying out a proxy mailing service. They give you a US shipping address, let you consolidate a few packages, then ship to Australia. If people think it’s a good set, might try to consolidate some orders.
Those MacGregor woods look pretty terrific…don’t know what the inlay is however-- someone may know- looks like a different material
I have bought from that guy before…he does some pretty decent refinishes
Ding Ding Ding! 1-E Redline Alert! 5 Shaft Alert! Matching Numbers Alert!

That is all…
Looks like some old Hogan Percussions that were re-chromed. Only $125.

Some of you will remember how much praise I have for this set of irons…used this model for quite some time…one of the better ‘modern’ blades (early 90’s) made in my opinion… Go get 'Em
These have been on my radar since they were posted TM!!!
I used to have those irons in my freshman year. Had some True Temper DG’s in them and when we put them up on the shaft frequency analyzer, they were all over the place. So I traded them with a friend for some Ram FX Tour Grinds which were small enough to stir coffee with.

Man I wish I lived in the States. In Australia we get ZERO vintage stuff turning up on ebay…ok maybe once in a while we do. We’re forced to shop on US ebay and if we happen to find a US ebayer that will even post to us we end up paying through the nose for it. Not only that but there is no where in Australia that I know of that can do that kind of re-finishing work…
…the again the lifestyle isn’t too bad downunder.
I am watching these like a hawk; Please dont increase my price.
