Hi Bom, welcome back. I think you left before my arrival but i’ve been going through past threads like a fat kid in a cookie jar, pleased to see you back and contributing more
Heres a couple more videos of Gary Player. It looks to me like his shallow entry and post impact pivot thrust is as good as just about anyone and he’s in his 70s.

Look how pinned his left arm is to his body at impact…very impressive
Check this video compilation out. I love how his right leg works aggressively into impact and beyond, plowing the road so his arms and hands can get through like greased lightning; how he pressures down actively deep into the 430 slot. Go to 1:09 and freeze it and check out the position of his clubface. You could easily balance a cup of tea on it. A big magic move right before going vertical. I posted this video on another website, waxing poetic about how dynamic he was, but they couldn’t wait to talk about how Jason Dufner was similar to Hogan. (Credit Bradley’s website for the video)

Thanks for posting those! Here are a few “grabs”.
Gary Player on golf channel academy, second time watching tonight. Exactly what you would think. He emphasizes accelerating through the ball, not at it. No pivot stall, swing in one motion to finish. Watch it if you can, he is a genius. Favorite thing is his enthusiasm and love of the game.
Lag,
It must have been great to see Chi Chi play in his prime! What a great personality, ballstriker, and contributor to the game! When you followed him did he do that trademark flat agressive move with all his shots and to WORK THE BALL? It seems as if He does that move to hit a draw and get more distance? I have never seen footage of him backing off that aggressive post impact shoulder roatation. Does anyone have more footage? Just some thoughts…
I really like Chi Chi’s swing especially in his first swing in this video, this is very impressive how aggressive he was with his post impact pivot thrust, it reminds me alot of Gary Player, and he was able to hit it pretty long with a fairly short armswing.

I just saw this video on Nick Price, it’s kind of long but it has alot of good clips of his swing. He looks pretty steep with his shoulders, but he keeps his hands very low through impact and has very good post impact torso rotation. The swings at 15:01 and 16:20 look very good to me in terms of Module 3 and the way he sticks his finish.

Chi Chi really came to life on the Senior Tour.
We won 22 times in an 8 year period. Pretty amazing stuff against an awful lot of great players.
It would be interesting to know what really started clicking for him them… most likely on the greens.
When I think of guys that really worked the ball in a masterful way, I think of Chi Chi, Trevino, and Pavin.
Tough to beat Tiger through the zone when he was instinctively striping it…
I’ve been on a bit of a Tiger buzz for the last few months… I love this contrast, in truth, not much had changed…
Great pics. Seems to show the power of his swing DNA. And brings to mind the old adage…“as the twig is bent, so grows the tree…”
If those can find their way to Tiger…he might be getting some saddle oxford shoes and a two-toned hat like in his youth.
Calvin Peete
Driving accuracy leader 9 years in a row
Greens in reg: worse than 5th in GIR only once in 9 years straight
He’s playing pretty solid this week, but Shane Lowry is the real deal, a very clean action. He may not be an ABS classic, but he knows how to strike it…
Bom gonna have something for your Tiger buzz in the next two weeks, its a story a member told me about Tiger at the masters one year. Impressive enough for me to ask him to type it up, member is a good amateur player and has won many tournaments along with going to the masters for 30 years. He is not one that is impressed without something great.
Are you going to post the story in the forum?
Yea, not sure what year it was but will be good to find out which swing he had. Heard stories of him striking it well, but was good to hear from a guy I know that can play and does not give out compliments because a player is a pro.
Hey Lag would you think that Angel does well when the pressure highest in majors and not as well in weekly tour events because of this action. In majors he can separate himself with ball striking but in regular events is not rewarded the same, with short game or hot putter players beating him in modern courses.
I know you are asking Lag, but in my opinion Angel just doesn’t bring a lot of intensity to most events, especially since he won his majors. He’s set for life in terms of money and I don’t think he has much motivation. In reality, great ball striking will always show up, even if it is muted somewhat on a certain kind of course, there just isn’t a Hogan or Knudson out there at the moment.
