Way to go Two!
Great bounce-back TM…gd luck for w/e !
Well played Bradley… good luck for the weekend!
Really, for Bradley to be able to compete at this level still, after several years of relatively little practice, is quite amazing. It’s a bit like Pete Sampras turning up at Wimbledon and getting through a bunch of rounds.
Well done our man! ![]()
All the best Two, I only wish I had the time to come and follow you round.
Congrats Two and may your ball not be scared of the dark the next couple days.
Saturday is moving day.
Only seven off the lead with two rounds to play.
Poulter’s taken 11 less putts on the greens, so that says something about Bradley’s ball striking. Not bad for just showing up
from the pro shop and flying half way around the world. Good stuff.
I’m still liking the 501 to 1 wager at this point. ![]()
I think Bradley is 11 back with Poulter at -9 and Bradley at +2. The way the scores are presented on the site is confusing but the first column of -2 was Bradley’s second round 69 not his position after 2 rounds. Still delighted he made the cut especially after getting on the bad side of the draw with the wind in round 1. Be great to see him kick on still further from here!
Cheers, Arnie
Weather forecast looks promising - hopefully there will be calm conditions this morning and Bradley holes a few putts, then the wind to blow hard this afternoon for the leaders!

Sounds like he’s rounding into shape for the weekend. Amazing what he can do not competing regularly at that level the past few years. Good luck, Two, we’re pulling for you!
nice start - hole 1 moving day a birdie - seems a fair plan ![]()
here’s hoping he has a top day
Struggled a bit on the back 9, fingers crossed for Bradley on the last day. As others have said to come straight out of the club job and make the cut in a tournament featuring the world no.1 is an achievement.
Is there any footage of Two while playing. I watched some, but not all, of the tournament so far and didn’t see anything. I was hoping TV would have put some footage up on him, as well as others who have won the tournament more than once. Maybe they did, but I didn’t see it. If there is anything out there would it be possible for someone to put something up.
Also, don’t remember which hole- maybe the first- but Peter Senior was chip-pitching from in front of a green and, although it was a brief capture of the action, I was struck by how elevated the shaft became after contact. When I saw that brief capture, my thought was…wow, what was that!
Anyone have any coverage of Senior chipping they can put up.
Looking forward to hearing Two’s thoughts on the tournament. ![]()
Eagle 3 to finish…nice one Bradley! A well done and a happy xmas from all of us here I’m sure. ![]()
Cheers, Arnie
If Bradley putts as good as Poulter he would have finished solo 4th. Putting also tends to have a cascading affect on ballstriking. If you’re putting good, it takes pressure off your chipping, and your iron shots, which can lead to making better swings from both the fairway and the tee.
Poulter doesn’t putt that well every week either. Golf is a game of patience. You need to play a lot of events, keep your chin up, and wait for the magic stick to bless your score for you.
As I said before, I still think it’s impressive to just walk out of the pro shop, fly across the planet and go out and make the cut in that event. Good stuff really.
Thankyou everyone for following my progress over at The Masters.
The golf course was incredible…so many different ways to play each hole…attack/defend/lay short/take on the traps/middle of the green/go for it
It was a treat to play…It really made me miss playing those sand belt courses and how they make you think and offer all types of players an option to play well. Much more enjoyable than the bomb and blast style we see so much of today.
For not really playing hardly at all for the past year I was reasonably happy with my game. Even one of my mates who came and watched couldn’t believe how much my striking had improved in the past year…and I haven’t even been playing. Just working some modules to keep the muscles in tune
I hit the ball great…hit my spots very well on most tee shots and iron approaches…putted well from short range (6-8 feet)… the only problem I had was long range putting. I couldn’t get the longer putts up close because of a speed issue. This was probably due to the fact that I have had little putting practice the past couple of years (if any!!!) and the greens there were much faster that what I have played on back home here.
Friday was the highlight round with 14/14 fairways and 16/18 greens. 69 that day could easily have been 64…had 4 rather large horse shoe putts and a few other missed opportunities. Got the bad side of the draw on thursday being second last group with the wind really wiping the guys scores on that half of the draw. In fact after round 1 there was only one player from my side in the top dozen. We were hoping for a wind return friday afternoon for them to enjoy but it never came, so my side of the draw certainly had the worst of it.
I started well saturday being level thru 11 holes but made an indecisive swing into hole 12 where I felt the wind shift but didn’t back off and switch clubs and proceeded to just stop my body near impact to ease the shot and hit a pull left into a dead position where I had to just play away and accept a bogey. Lost my touch on the greens for the remainder of the round and 3 putted 13, 14 and 17 which resulted in dropping down to the tail of the field. Sunday was OK after a doubtful start. Finishing with an eagle was a nice way to cap the week.
I never had worse than a bogey on any hole which was a good effort around such a punishing course.
Playing again was really an enjoyable experience and made me realize my playing days are not done yet if I want to muster up the desire to have another go at it.
Got to see some of my buddies again…Ogilvy, Allenby, Parry, Nathan Green, Peter O’Malley, Chalmers and Senior
Senior played well again as usual…spent Monday afternoon with him on the range for an hour hitting balls and watching. He was on trackman testing out his new irons.
Funny story…he was hitting his 9 iron 130 yards!!! he couldn’t get used to the new irons as they weren’t travelling at all…so he asked me to come hit some to make sure the machine was correct.
they asked me how far I hit my 9 iron and I said between 142 and 145 yards…so I stepped up and hit my 9 iron…boom 144.1 yards…he laughed saying I guess the machine is right and he is an old such and such that can’t hit it anymore…then he got me to hit his 9 iron and test it against mine…boom 144.2…case closed!!!
My friend who traveled with me to caddie had a ball also…he couldn’t believe how great the course was and how perfect you had to be to give yourself birdie chances… He was very impressed with my game under tournament conditions and did a great job working the bag for the week.
I did a clinic in Sydney and a clinic in Melbourne that were both well received. had 20 people total for the two clinics and everyone seemed to enjoy my thoughts and learning.
Spent the first week in Sydney doing the clinic and practicing. Played at The Australian one day…which is a great course.
It was certainly nice to get back home…I need to do it more often.
Thanks for the rundown of the tournament and great job down there! It was a lot of fun to follow.
I didn’t realize you were playing a bit, Two, great to see it. Keep up the good work…

Played in the Australian PGA 100 Year Celebration event at Royal Melbourne yesterday…We played the West Course which comprises 12 holes of the composite course they use for Major events such as The Presidents Cup… Still my favourite golf course in the world. It is an absolute masterpiece of terrain changes and slight elevations and deviations and sloping fairways and angle of approaches to get to the flags…the bunkers are out of this world and the greens are unbelievable. All perfectly designed to appreciate the good shot and make the next shot a tougher task if you are off a little with the drive or approach.
Played with Mike Clayton which was great as hadn’t played with Clayts for a long time. Bob Shearer played, Peter Thomson was a guest of honour at the dinner. Was a great day.
I hadn’t played for 2 weeks since I finished up in New Zealand but had done a fair bit of drilling the past week. This was something new to me as I would normally at least hit some balls before and event but stayed away from it and just worked on my drills.
The result was great. I hit 15 greens and shot a 5 under 67 to record the best score for the day.
I also finally broke out my imitation ‘chip roller’ putter.
Drewspin had made a putter up for me in the flat heavy mode and I have been reluctant to use it so far as I thought I would have to work at it a little to get some confidence. But nope…straight in the bag yesterday for the first time and putted brilliantly. Wish I had of bitten the bullet earlier and tried it sooner…could have had some much better finishes in my previous events in which the putter held me back.
But drills work for the swing. The putter setup definitely works for putting. Now all I need to do is learn to chip properly and my game will be about as complete as I can get it.
Here are a few pics from Royal melb yesterday. Amazing place and so lucky to have grown up right nearby and played it hundreds of times.

Thanks for the update and congrats on the win! That’s a great score out there… I know. I remember thinking I played great shooting 72.
Fun stuff.
The chip roller is magic. You don’t have to re learn anything… just get the basic concepts down and have the club set up properly.
Do I have to say “I told you so?” ![]()
