I am interested in what my fellow ABSers…are using and know how important it is to using the flat , heavy equipment.
They haven’t helped my game though

I understand and feel your frustrations. I too have struggled with my game as I have gone through the modules. What I would say is that you are holding onto something in your old swing that is blocking your progress. This is not to blame you or not say you are not practicing hard enough, nor is it to say ABS does not work.
For me, It took years for me to let go of my casting. In my drills and even working with John 1 on 1 it did not appear that this was the case, but, on the course, the old swing would creep in and cause problems.
In the end, it was a case of I didn’t know what I didn’t know - if that makes sense. For me it was a simple thing of realizing what the feel of the pivot felt like. And how did I unlock that feeling? It wasn’t the drills but rather I was watching a video series of John working with the Be Better Golf guy (Brandon?) and John describing and demonstrating the pivot-driven swing.
For me, that was my golden nugget. It unlocked the sequence of Mod 4 - 7 and helped me realize just how from the top the swing should feel. How to transition the club, how to maintain spine tilt, and how to pivot through the hitting area all became much more obvious once I figured this out.
And, just for reference, this took me 8 years to figure out.
Shoot me an email of your swing from caddy and DTL view… (one swing each with a long iron)
Let me see what is going on… I’m sure it will be obvious to me.
We will get you straightened out… there are no mysteries.

Hi Les. Thanks. Which BBG video are you referring to? Can you share the link?
Thanks. I’ve emailed you some recent swing videos.
Ok…
Jleber
We are going to start with getting some spine tilt and get some shoulder rotation…
No way you can strike the ball with a proper hitter’s method from a reverse spine tilt.
No wonder you are struggling…
Bow to the 4:30 line… and get those shoulders rotated fully past 12 o clock…arms at 10 o clock. Double check your cohesive body tension spots. Then get back to us…
The drills you have done are not wasted… you’re stronger for sure… now we get to work on our fundamentals.
Thanks for letting us know what’s going on…
You’ll be back on track soon…
Spine tilt …and shoulder rotation…
This allows room for the arms to access the 4:30 line… otherwise… it’s disaster!
I want to see you work from P3 to P4…
MORE spine tilt… really get over there… bow to the 4:30 line MORE!
Shoulders rotated MORE!
Weight on your right foot at P3… weight on your left foot at P4.
Hands WAY left at P4… with the clubface looking at the target… hold wristcock.
It’s ok for your head to feel like it is sliding left… toward the target.
Thanks. Is my address positioning ok in terms of bowing to the 4:30 line and spine tilt? Or do I need to set up with more tilt and bowing? If not, should the “more 4:30 bowing and spine tilt” occur during the back swing and transition?
Remember… we are working on the ABS Module program… so in the drills we
REALLY take things to the extreme… to speed up the process. Then when we come back to something “normal”… we will be much more likely to see effective integration.
That being said… more bow to the 4:30 line and work P3 to P4… magic trick drill…
Right side of torso feels “crunched” at P3… then left side of torso feels crunched at P4. Head should feel like it’s moving laterally two feet! Don’t worry about this for now. Start making ball contact with solid strikes… from 4:30 line at P3 to the feeling of holding the bottom left leg of an “X” at P4.
Make sure to maintain cohesive body pressure points as learned in the Modules and your Mod 2 ground pressure protocols.
Thanks. Should the lateral head move of 2 ft be on the backswing or downswing?
Lateral move is from P3 to P4. Like John said, it’s an extreme move while drilling to speed up the process, you won’t have that much movement when you play.
Knudson said it best, eloquent and simple…
