Scott Cowx--Teaching a pivot driven swing--Similar to Erickson method

Found this guy essentially teaching the 430 line (his shallowing move), and a pivot driven swing with a left path from there. This seems to follow/parallel Erickson’s teachings and is really interesting I think. He also discusses path going left and face not going left.

Thoughts on similarities and differences?

Scott is teaching one of the popular ways to flatten the shaft. Take it out and loop it back in. Works great.

The only disadvantage of that method would be that it tends to put too much stress on the shaft at transition, and then becomes very difficult to maintain that into impact. Most that go that route will need to shorten their backswings to accommodate.

Ultimately, tripping the shaft I think is the better method, but you have to know how to do that correctly. I really prefer that at this point because you can take advantage of the longer backswing length for more power as well.

Also, keeping the right elbow locked up through the strike is critical to stabilizing the clubface. Not sure if he talks about that.

In the end, you have to know how to do these things and know how to train the body to do these things. Lots of repetition and drilling is the short cut.
