Science Validates Erickson

@Fore_Thirty so u can take pics of alignment sticks but not ur swing? Interesting lol

:man_shrugging:

Alignment sticks and divot pattern. I took the picture myself after my practice. Not sure how you expect me to record myself with an iPhone while I’m hitting balls. But I did post my Trackman combine which is an objective test of ballstriking skill and actually tracks the results my swing produces. Not sure what else I can say if that isn’t sufficient.

Lean the iphone up on the ground against the ball basket. I do it all the time. Or a chair or a cart. Ur swing will be well received Im sure.

Like I said. Lets see ur swing tomorrow. Its easy to throw around studies and number analysis.

Lets critique the swing.

Then we’ll talk trackman GEARS ect…you are new here and we like to know whos who as u say.

Whats ur handicap by the way?

I don’t have a handicap. The last time I kept one it was +1.6. I don’t play a lot anymore, but I’ll shoot around par give or take a couple shots from around 6,800 yards. I pretty much just hit balls, practice, and play in scrambles now with a few rounds thrown in here and there. My low round is 67 which I’ve shot twice.

I’ll get my swing up here at some point, but the fact of the matter is that the only critiquing that’s relevant to golf is the results of the golf shots.

Im sure ur swing is spectacular then if u were +2. Lets see it :+1:

Can u put it in gears as well. Arent u the one promoting gear technology? If so why cant we see it on GEARS???

Curious? Why would u throw into the remarks the only thing thats important are golf ahot results and be into so much theory about GEARS technology???

You are calling out the owner of this website to go onto GEARS for your own critique. Yet, u cant even figure out how to shoot ur own supposively +2 handicap swing on ur iphone. Then, you say the only thing that matters is the result of a golf shot when I ask u to post ur swing.

I also notice @dubious and @JeffMann are cheering on yiur efforts to get JE on GEARS.

Too much bullshiat for me pal. You and ur buddys need to go swing together.

Good luck smh

My swing is what it is and my shots are what they are. I’ve posted my Trackman Combine data…it is the most objective and comprehensive evaluation you can make of someone’s ballstriking skill. My goal isn’t to impress anyone with my swing, my goal is to hit good golf shots.

I don’t have a GEARS system. They cost about $40,000.

The only thing that matters as far as a golf swing goes is how it hits the ball. The only thing that matters when teaching a student is that they hit the ball better. When discussing the realities of the golf swing the only thing that matters is being factually and imperially correct about what happens. And golf instructors need to know what really happens from a biomechanical standpoint and they need to know how to get their students to do it better even if that means introducing ideas or concepts or feels that they know aren’t factually or literally correct…but they need to be able to distinguish between the two. I’m into GEARS because I’m into golf, swing mechanics, and instruction and I want to know what really happens in a golf swing. I think there’s valuable insight in that. You don’t?

I don’t know either of the other posters and I’m not calling for John to get on GEARS. I really couldn’t care less if he does or not. I’m simply saying that he’s not doing what he says he’s doing, I’m making the claim with evidence behind it, and he and you and others are making the claim via subjective feels and seems as ifs. I’m simply saying that GEARS is available and it’s been stated that it wouldn’t cost him a penny. I’m not the one selling golf instruction modules or making claims I can’t or won’t prove, he is. He’s also making claims about other devices, such as Trackman, that are verifiably untrue.

I’ve asked multiple times now, and this is the 3rd, for the name of a Tour player who is using an acceptable technique so I can try to find their GEARS data and post it up for all to take a look at. But I’m sure I won’t get it because “all of this new crappy lightweight gear” doesn’t allow it and how John is the only person who can do it…except for a handful of 13 handicaps on this forum who have learned how…and goalposts moved in perpetuity.

Again, I posted my Trackman Combine results. There no “supposively” (that’s not a word) about it. You can’t cheat a Trackman Combine, the scores are the scores, the shots and shot patterns are the shots and shot patterns. I hit those balls and the results are the results. But I do have some club championship results where a PGA Tour player shot -16 for two days and beat me by 13 shots if you’d like to see those.

@Fore_Thirty You want John E to prove his claims of shaft flex to you thru GEARS. Now your talking out of two sides of your mouth just like @JeffMann @Dubious and You cant even take video of your own +1.6 supposed swing. If ur so disgruntled why dont u go talk swinging with your swinger friends. You wont get any love and attention here anymore especially calling out John E your first week on this blog.

Bye

I couldn’t care a less if John is doing exactly what he says he does or not. I know for a fact that ABS has taken my game from being stuck on 6/7 for over 20 years to +1.

Here is a link to a GEARS capture of my swing. Not sure why you think this is important to see, but here it is. Enjoy. GEARS - Face on 7 iron 5/17/22 - YouTube

I don’t WANT him to do anything. I’m simply directly asking (4th time now) for the name of a Tour player who hits a golf ball with accelerating hands, an accelerating pivot, a frozen right arm, and holding shaft flex, or frankly any combination of some of those things. I will then try to find their GEARS data and post it and I may very well be unsuccessful finding it, but I will try. If there isn’t one (there isn’t) and John is claiming to be able to do those things then it would follow that he be one that should get tested. Or not. It’s no skin off my back either way.

I was on version 1 of this forum 8-10 years ago when it first started. It died and I went away. I saw it was back due to Be Better Golf popping up on my YouTube feed, so I’m back. I like the forum, I like the discussion, I like the content, and I like the instruction. I think it’s good stuff and I think it works. I also think John isn’t doing exactly what he thinks he’s doing and trying to force the square peg of feel and intent into the round hole of reality makes no sense when it’s very simple to look at data and admit that what the intent has to be is not a 1:1 translation to what happens. And if the claim is that feel is real then prove it. It’s that simple.

I don’t care either. I don’t think it’s relevant in the greater context of ABS. But it is relevant when you make a post called “science validates Erickson” and the discussion is around objective truths and the science. ABS being valid and improving golfers is an entirely different discussion than what happens during a golf swing. And both are important.

What was your user name on V1.

@Fore_Thirty
Again u talk out of two sides of ur ass saying u dont want John E to get on GEARs to show validation of his ABS but yiu really do as u can see above. You guys that come on here hardly golf (18 handicaps) and make a big fuss @lagpressure bc ur math just doesnt add up w his shaft flex.

**When u qualify to play in the Austrailian Open or Canadian tour or make a living playn Against the likes of Norman, Lyle, and Strange then get ur ass on GEARs for us all. Maybe then someone will listen. Until then a bunch of u are just farts in the wind. Have some fkn respect or stfu.

But if someone else asks you the same question- what your prior user name was within V1- we can have a look.

Hmm…wasn’t it your side in this very thread talking about “appeal to authority”?

If you’re hell bent on going that route, I posted Rory McIlroy’s GEARS data in this thread. He’s a 4 time major winner with 21 PGA Tour wins and a Masters away from a grand slam. He’s won nearly $66 million playing golf. His shaft is in lead deflection into and at impact.

More than willing to tee it up with you for $1,000 a hole and see where the chips fall.

Hell no, Im sure u can beat Rory 1,000 a hole too.
