I saw in the Washington Post that J.D. Salinger passed away today at 91 in New Hampshire. I gotta admit that Holden and Franny and Zooey had a bit of an influence on my ditching my ride to Annapolis back in '91 and chasing the golf ball instead. What a life, what a writer. There is going to be an onslaught of his work come out; novels, short stories and who knows what else that he has written and kept in the last 50 years coming out posthumously in the next decade. I can’t wait to read it all.
