I still can’t get over the fact that he joined the tour a year after Nicklaus! I looked it up and Jack is only two years older than him- that seems amazing to me. Maybe it’s Floyd’s longevity, but I just can’t believe those two guys are from the same era. Faldo beat him in the play off to win his second Masters, and I just don’t have Faldo anywhere near Nicklaus as far as eras go. Insane.
Floyd was the man, I love his game.
End of a long and strong era… he could’ve, maybe should’ve also won the Masters in 1990 and 1992… what a competitor! Tough to see where another of his like is going to come from…

… as an aside- to show how ridiculous Niklaus’ era was, I didn’t realize it when I made my comments above but Faldo actually played with Jack in the FInal round in 1990! It’s almost hard to believe… I hope golf keeps us in as good a stead in the future as these guys kept it in the past…
