Rant Time At ABS

So, I had a small free time window today between driving Mall Rat crazy and me doing absolutely nothing important, so I tuned into the Jack’s Memorial hullabaloo. I tuned in during their tribute to David Graham.

It was pretty nice, nice clips and such then the screen goes to Graham on a tee and we’re about to see his action. I’m thinking cool, the film was a little grainy, but still. Just as David is about to swing I couldn’t believe what was put on the telly- telly for our friends and neighbors across the pond.

There was an overlay with 2 logos: GolfTech and Optimotion.

So there David Graham stood on a tee in tribute with neon circles on his legs, arms and shoulder joints and yellow lines representing his leg and arm bones and we got to watch that crap in motion, during a tribute. I about lost it! I’d fire the executive responsible within 2 seconds after it happened. How embarrassing for Mr. Graham and his family, should be embarrassing for GolfTech too and their little paint by number program. I have to stop watching that crap.

I’ve never been to a GolfTech before, no need, never will. Just a big cluster in my opinion, and Rat opinions are always valid- we’re in touch with the underground. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thought this would be a good thread for other rants too. We’re all big enough to avoid politics, sex and religion, and keep things clean, so let’s lay waste to other nonsense we encounter every day. Moddies..feel free to toss this if inappropriate.

Back again.

So, I’m lacing up a new pair of shoes and when finished I have at least 12" of lace on each side. What in the world are the shoe companies up to. Even after using a double knot when tying I have way too much lace left- about 5" left on each side. Been this way for the last few years on all my new kicks.

What are we missing, why are laces way too long. Why are OEM’s trying to trip us up, why I ask.

This is not right, I don’t care what anyone says, it has never been like this in Michigan, not in my lifetime anyway where people have to stay indoors- here’s beautiful downtown Southfield.

I should run for high office, and I promise on day 1 President Rat will invade and take over Canada to pave paradise and put in a parking lot- problem solved.

Love getting older and the perplexing questions popping up almost daily, and out of nowhere.

I struggled with this one: is the most efficient American way to eat pork-fried rice with a fork or a spoon.

We got Chinese the other night, and this dilemma stopped me in my tracks for more than several minutes of contemplation while we were dishing things up. Spoon won for me, but Mall Rat was adamant that a fork is the proper choice. Spoon has to be more efficient right? I mean a grain of rice could slip through the fork’s tines.

The way the natives eat it, they just stick the bowl up to their face and start shoveling it in with chop sticks. Hard to beat that for efficiency.

Another vote for spoon here. Fork for noodles.

Here is a rant…

Is AI going to re write golf history? Make up things Hogan never said using AI?

I found this quite disturbing actually. Someone used an AI version of Hogan’s voice, wrote a script and is attempting to pass this on as fact. Hogan did not say these things and it’s all BS and utter nonsense. Reading the comments, most folks seem to believe it while only a couple called it out as “AI”

Thoughts?

Pure bull manure is what it is beyond entertainment.

Although AI has some benefit one has to be very cautious around that technology for sure. I’ve been having some fun with it however and actually won a few arguments against AI..:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: .. and one time AI actually was quite helpful tracking down something by using only vague memories about it.

You might be next Lag! Someone will copy your voice extolling the virtues of frying pans and 8000-yard designs- a must listen. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Sadly I think AI will change a lot of stuff but it’s because of those behind the tool that it’s going to happen. The more randomly it’s used the worse it will become. Wasn’t it Spider-Man’s uncle who said “with great power comes great responsibility.”
