Playing blogs with vintage gear

Enjoyed my 5th round of the year this morning. There was a decent breeze the whole day, probably about 10 mph with occasional gusts. I went out as a single and played with a threesome of retired guys. They got a kick out of my bag. My bag was:

693T driver (laminated version) and 4w

Wilson Staff 1 iron

1975 dynas 3-9

Modern 48, 52, and 56 degree wedges

23 ounce Bullseye putter

I played the tips and was solid off the tee. The 1 iron is a great safety net off the tee and recently I stopped carrying my 3w to make room in the bag. The irons were only okay but I hit a few close and managed to hit 13 greens.

The greens were probably too fast for the bullseye but it felt good inside of 20 feet. Poor speed control on long putts led to 3 3-putts and I had two holes with 2 chips… One was justifiable out of an odd lie in a hazard but the other was pure idiocy. Had a double on 10 which is a long story. In the end I shot 78. Feels like it should have been a 74 but we always feel that way, don’t we?? I should be able to score better hitting 13 greens but everything is rusty.

I like all the clubs in the bag which is a great feeling though.
