Is a Momentus iron or similarly weighted training club a good idea for ABS training or is it too heavy?
Thanks!

That heavy iron is really meant more for timing and tempo range of motion and awareness for swinging in my opinion and, if I recall correctly, is not to be used when hitting balls. How heavy is it?
Lag, or some of the others, can shed better insight here but I think it might even be too heavy for bag work and if not it would be one hell of a workout. ![]()
I think it’s kind of overkill.
You get used to that and then the clubs you’re playing with feel way too light. Not what you’re looking for. Probably best to just get a nice proper heavy stiff set from the 1950s and get used to it.
I swing one everyday but my focus is for strength and lengthening the muscle fibers. I do 3 sets of 7 swings then I will hit 40-100 balls from 4:30 to PV5 with a wedge from 60-115 yards while I’m waiting for clients to show up for their lesson. The one I use is The Groovie by Master Grip guy by the name of Pat Simmons produced these a long time ago in the 1990s
