John,
On a scale from 1-10 how much squeeze for mod 2 in legs, core , arms at pits and grip?
Dbain123,
Bradley Hughes (TwoMasters) answers this question during his Australia “Talk Birdie To Me” podcast interview published in March 2025, at the 29:20 mark:
Basically, TwoMasters says:
-
If he wants to hit a normal full shot his normal distance, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being squeezing as hard as he can, Bradley squeezes at “7”
-
If Bradley wants to lean on the club and hit it a little further, he squeezes to “8” or “9”, and then he swings (he doesn’t do anything different in his swing). He says the greater amount of squeeze causes him to rotate harder/faster, thus the ball goes further.
-
If he wants to take some yardage off his stock shot with a club, he squeezes to a “5” or a “6”.
Speaking for myself, I need to remember this bit of ABS wisdom and practice this Module 2 “squeezing” aspect diligently!
This is very similar to a system I teach my students at the golf academy. I try to share with them if they need to feather an iron into the a hole their waggle and grip pressure level should reflect that. Same if they need to lean on one their waggle and grip pressure should relay that message. But I also tell them that a committed shot that does not come off as planned is better than any indecisive shot they could have had.
