Re: FINALLY ! Flattened Persimmon Survives!

Postby daleheck » Sat Sep 29, 2012 4:44 pm
Got a chance to play the club I flattened today, couldn’t’ be more pleased… !!
A bit strange getting used to setting up to the flatter angles… but does get the knees flexed … just gotta keep em- there!
I have it deadweighted at 14.3 oz… and shafted with an X100.
While my round today was nothing to write home about (87 on fairly easy track) I did have 2 highlights!

1- 232 yard par three bunkered left pin tucked left, hit a solid high draw that felt OOhh so solid !!.. pin- high on the right fringe , putt drained for birdie… my 2 playing partners were slack- jawed !

2- 352 short dog- leg right ALL uphill… tee’d it up with this baby solid baby draw up the right side shortened the dog leg,
90 yards out, out drove BOTH of my titanium adversaries by 20 yards! :stuck_out_tongue:… 2 putts for par… again head-shaking from my partners, as they both looked way longer off the tee when they hit!

Too much fun, while I am another couple of weeks from moving on to MOD2 (my video updates on MOD1 are finally getting a passing grade!) … I am really starting to feel the benefit of trying to hold shaft flex and accelerating at impact and beyond, I try to imagine a redline area 2 feet in front of the ball and really work my pivot hard and retain that right arm bend into that zone… it absolutely works, can’t wait to get to the other Modules…

DNA starting to sink in… P3 still needs to be more shallower… I been working on sitting on my ASS more during transition and flexing the knees alot more while driving the right heel into the ground! Results are promising…and i think it shallows out my shaft more. John told me to move more down to the inside so that the ball wish push out right… Still working on this as well… will post more once i get more vid in a couple of weeks.

Thanks!

wow those are nice pics bspeck. i’m envious of how open that clubface is at p3.

looks really good Brandon.

Thanks guys!

ABS Student lightbulb of the week:

Here is a sequence of one of my students … A lot of good work in 10 months. One of my students who always sends videos, asks questions and works hard …

ABS Student…

Shot a competitive personal best -3 33 today. 6 of 7 fairways and 8 of 9 greens. One eagle and one birdie.

Congrats!

Doesn’t surprise me after seeing how things were coming along when you were out here. Thanks for keeping us posted.
I bet you wish it was an 18 hole match!

I’m sure you won your match, but how did the team do?

Today was the first part of a 27 holer. We play the 18 hole part on Monday at a different course. In the meantime, we have a different tournament on Friday and Saturday. Weird scheduling.

This event is just a tournament among the 5 teams in our district. We’re leading by something like 17 shots after 9 holes. I’m leading the tournament by 2, but I’ll have to sleep on it for 4 days! :astonished:

I’ve been hitting it really solid. No exceptional putting today at all. Flagged a 3 wood from 260 and made eagle on a par 5, and then wedged it tight on a short 4. Had some other great looks too. I’m peaking at the right time for the state tournament coming up at the end of the month.

Reminds me of a story years ago.

I was playing at the PGA Tour Q school in late October in Indiana. After the first two days I was easily within the cut line, but on the evening before the third round it snowed. Not just a little, but enough to bury my rental car completely. We had to wait 3 or 4 days for the snow to melt so we could continue the qualifying. Some of the guys were driving south out of state to go practice. I remember it being a long time sitting in a hotel room or going to the movies between putting on the carpet and watching cable TV. I did end up getting through that stage, and remember playing with Todd Hamilton and Jackie Nicklaus Jr the last two days. Not so sure about scheduling tour school in Indiana in late October.
That same week they had a hurricane come through the New Orleans spot and the San Francisco earthquake hit while the guys were on the golf course at Fort Ord with the fairways rolling under their feet.

Lag is a genious!
I just signed on to the forum and wanted to share my story.

Im usually not impressed very easily but ABS is an exception! I am not a student of ABS because my wife is in med school and we have no extra money whatsoever! I since have scowered this website upside down for probably a year and a half now and just from that my swing is a hundred times better. I dont play on the course much cause of my income but i do have a huge field by my house in which me and my camera go to work!! i was shooting around high seventies when i first started looking at this website seriously and I have improved by heaps and bounds… My ball striking is that much improved that I feel like i should give a check to Lag in the mail! Due to users posts on youtube and my investigative mind, i have done around eight thousand module one reps. I have found another way to do module three since I do not have lags keen eye to correct myself. I just wanted to share that Lags program is by far the best instruction out there! I have always investigated every theory on the golf swing and this is the best by far.

P.S (for all those who were upset for the price increase in modules or price in general) I truly believe lag should be charging way more and cant imagine why he does not considering what the Butch Harmons of the world are charging to send his pupil out to you for a video critique only!

Thanks Lag

lag,

those youtube videos should really be taken down. not sure why anyone would post your module work on youtube. you worked really hard to put them together and some are getting it for free. If you could figure who posted them on youtube i would ban them from you site and modules.

You make a valid point about banning the module videos from youtube. There’s really only a select few on Youtube that appear to be not very good. The only videos i could find were a select few of module 0ne Two and Three. It was kinda hard to find them. I am astonished on how much information is on the public site!! TONS AND TONS and TONS OF INFO!!! enough to make a really good swing with lots of trial and error, a video camera, and with Hogan footage to compare. Lag has decided somehow to generously share it with the public (I guess out of the kindness of his heart?). Although I have done extensive research and found old school teachers doing something very similar to module 1. Lag said it himself that it is not anything new. I currently am doing module one and something totally diferent that resembles module three.

(On a side note) I am doing module one at home and would gladly pay Lag his royalties for time served with no critque from him (i would need time to save though to pay him… lol!). I dont believe my guilty conscious would need to pay him for module three since I am doing something tottaly different that gets the job done. i would be glad to share my thoughts on my module three that I think is fantastic…

Thanks agian to Lag for the enormous amount of free information that he puts on the public site. You deserve far more royalties than we could pay for.

Good stuff. But imagine your improvement with lags expert eye watching over you. Without that and knowing the exact intentions of the modules, you’re just guessing. Keep it up though, no better place to steal some cheese.

i was in a similar position to you coby. i had already had my equipment to specs and had been educating myself through the public forums for almost a whole year before i became a student. i am now on module 3 and have enjoyed every bit of it. i think that you can only do so much without lags critique. watching a student on youtube and trying to copy it, will be leaving quite a bit on the table. im sure one can even argue that it may be doing harm to your game if you start doing some things incorrectly. i use youtube to send videos to lag, but i always make them private.

here at ABS we really do have it made. lags modules and the sequence he teaches them to us are exactly what a golfer needs if hes interested in mastering this great game. also, the ability lag has of communicating to us the feelings we need to feel and the adjustments we need to make is just perfect. in his questionaire to become a student here, i think one of them was " how good do you think you can get if you had PERFECT instruction? " thats what we have here and we all know it. what a wonderful feeling.

I COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE NRG and WOODENWOODS!

I do believe that you can do yourself more harm than good without LAGS eye and feedback. thats why I knew that after module one I was COOKED (mike maves style!!!)… No offense to those module Youtube videos but i think you would really screw yourself up coping them! I had a plan to only read Lags posts which were a bazillian! and then implament something for module three cause there was no way i could analyize it by my own eye. After module three I have to go through trial and error! LOTS of film FOOTAGE and hours of working towards an ABS swing (My wife is a med student and i have too much time on my hands!!) …Lag is really good at leaving Rabbit trails (or you could say coded words and images) that i have been able to research through the vast relm of the internet!..Just reading the SUPERSLOTTING Thread has given me tons of information to research. (For example: Gary player doesnt B.S you when it comes to telling you the right instruction! Go research on what he does cause he is a SS) Gary Player is able to SS because of his Schwarzenegger strength training regimin (particular is forearm excersizes!)…Anyways what im saying is LAG is very methodical on what he says. He does not waste words and articulates very well! What is your IQ lag? its probably very high!

dont forget hes humble too!
