Just ahead of any official announcement it seems very likely the Irish Open this year will be held at Royal Portrush Golf Club 
Like Ballybunion a few years ago, RPGC will need at least a little wind for protection and some of the holes will be dominated by the pros but there are plenty of holes where accuracy will be more important than length and a host of holes where shot making skills are a requisite.
It’s great for the club and the area that it is coming and if successful could lead to The Open coming back in the next few years!
