I may be buying a set of vintage forged heads, but before I do I wanted to know if y’all have any idea how the head weights compare to others heads.
The 5 iron head weighs 259 grams…

They’re a set of forged heads that were made for a small Sacramento company in the 80’s. It only says “Oughton” on the back. They are similar in shape to the Titleist FG-17 blades. The 5 iron weight is 5g heavier than my current head, and heavier than any of the Snake Eyes or Golfsmith heads I can find. I can’t find any information on head weights for OEM brands.
If you google “Oughton Golf” there’s a website for the company. It’s a one man repair shop that from what I gather. He will repair and re-chrome vintage heads, repair persimmons, and apparently build new persimmons upon request. Right up your alley, Lag!!
