Harmonize Your Golf

In rummaging around old golf books, I saw a publication found on ‘Fine Golf Books’, called Harmonize Your Golf written in 1948 by Claude Sr. in collaboration with Lawrence Robinson, a New York World-Telegram writer. I believe it might be a book but not sure. It was listed on Fine Golf Books as 16pp.- which seems like a short book. It’s no longer listed.

I’ve searched quite a bit, and the only road so far seems to be through the Library of Congress being the only keeper of any and all New York World-Telegram material. There might be a copy in University of Wisconsin library but not sure- my search skills are limited. Still waiting on word from LOC which has been turtle slow due to the federal shutdown.

In the meantime, anyone with super sleuth skills needing something to work on here’s what I have so far. Claude Harmon Sr., certainly seems worth a look. Or any insights into what this is?

My research states that it was unpublished and Archive books didn’t even have a copy and that’s extremely rare that they don’t have a copy to borrow. I’m going to keep looking because this is one of my hobbies finding classic books.

Thanks for the treasure hunt

Cheers

I first came across the ‘book’ at Fine Golf Books and they had a pretty fair description and is where I got the book cover photo and details about author, date published, etc. But a few days after I went back to search it again it was gone, all data wiped clean. Maybe it was sold long ago and they forgot to clean up their site.

In any event, it should still be in somewhere at the LOC, maybe? I’ve emailed them twice, still waiting. Good fishing, and I’ll let you know if LOC reaches out. Call in all favors due you…

Looks like a very flat lie angle on that driver…

Rats, appears to be a dead end. Received response today from Library of Congress. I’m thinking maybe Fine Golf Books listed something it did not have. In any event, here’s the response from LOC.

Yes I have been looking hard with zero success and I usually can find the hard to find books but not this time.

I have one last thing I can do, I can contact his son Bill Harmon we have spoken several times concerning golf issues. I will keep you posted on what Bill says.

Update today. Received additional response from LOC. Looks like Rat’s inquiry was run up the proverbial flagpole. Would love to see what’s inside this pamphlet. Given the year 1948 and the Hogan-Harmon relationship I’m sure it’s nothing.
