Golf Restoration Solutions

Hello,

Are all systems go for this event? It looks like the deadline for entry is March 26 so a decision would have to be made soon. Did the prize money get solidified? Is anyone here planning on competing? Any thoughts on what the official tournament ball will be?

Thanks,
LipOut

The problem we have had has not been securing dates, but Vic’s work schedule. Every time we decide on a date, Vic calls and tells me Butch is sending him to Mexico or Florida for a golf school. I can’t imagine playing the event without Vic as he and I are the co founders of the event. So I am waiting to hear back from him… and in a worst case senario, we will have to have it in the fall… because summer in Vegas is not good. :imp:

The guy promising to put up money for us flaked. Not cool at all to do that… and it does upset me. That would have been great. I guess the days of a man’s word and his honor are gold… is now dust. My father did a lot of handshake business deals for a lot more money than this years ago. I don’t like the idea of living in a world where I can’t trust people… particularly golfers. We are supposed to shine with brighter integrity.

The new discussions now are about approaching it in a more serious way going with a private placement memorandum and selling shares to raise the capital to actually do things right. We actually have the paper work done… just needs some revisions, but it probably is the best way to go.

I tend to prefer this approach because just circulating the offering would certainly start raising eyebrows and who knows who might want to come aboard.

Anyone with experience in such matters feel free to pm me.

The main things that need to happen are for equipment restrictions to be put in place so that golf courses play properly again.
It’s more than obvious to anyone who has been around this game for more than a decade or two.

The rules need to be addressed so that pace of play becomes a priority. The TRGA rules have proven beyond a doubt that this is possible and completely functional, while keeping within the traditions of the game.

Tradition needs to be restored. This works also with TRGA and Persimmon and blade being standard for competition. This also allows for relative generational comparisons to actually have merit and also gives due respect to those great players that came before us.

We are going to need a good golf ball. Doesn’t look like a winding machine is going to be accessible any time soon, but I don’t give up total hope on that either. I have to believe there is still one or two around somewhere in a storage room or even a museum exhibit! But a reasonable option would be a solid core ball with lower compression and a softer cover. This is doable.

A persimmon tour is not too difficult to get off the ground if we have a purse to offer the pros that is significant. Getting the classic tracks to participate will be the least of our worries. No problems there, and any course not wanting us, once they see we are getting established would be crazy. It would ONLY be for their benefit.

Then of course we would need one flagship event like The United States Persimmon Open on a great historic track with a good purse… ideally better than any of the Nationwide events.

Not any great news… but nothing too bad either.

Well that is disappointing but not worth pouting over. I’m sure the event will be a success regardless of purse of date. Please keep us in the loop as the timing and details become a little clearer. I’d still like to go and have some friends that will play too but I want to give them enough time to plan and practice.

Thanks for your work in coordinating!

We had a long Skype meeting last night… and should have an announcement this coming week.

We’re all on the edge of our seats! Looking forward to hearing the latest.

Any updates?

TRGA site currently says October 19-21. Don’t know how permanent that date is.

Sure would be fun to play in it! Maybe next year.

Someone needs to ask Chamblee to pony up if he’s serious about the state of golf.

Getting golf back to sensibility seems a good idea… especially at this time when golf seems to be waning. The fractioning of golf has already happened for me. I’m a persimmon and blades player and proud of it. There are others… more and more all the time… not just on this site.

Not everyone buys into the silliness.

Been a bit quiet here for a while… but I was contacted by a very passionate golfer last week who shares our ideals and is interested in getting involved. He does a lot of philanthropy work and believes this to be more than a noble enough concern to get involved. We had a long talk on the phone last evening, and it was all very inspiring. He had a lot of excellent ideas on how to move things forward.

We will be meeting soon, playing some golf, and discussing. His time line looks to be around the second quarter of next year.

So just an update.

A lot of ground work has been done, and I believe this will be another step in the right direction.

Many good points here…

I forgot how great these logos look!

You gonna be president and CEO?

We tried hard to get this going a decade ago… I think a new generation would have to do it now…

I wholeheartedly agree! Thinking back, my best ball striking rounds were with persimmon Macgregor Tourney Custom woods and Tourney Custom irons. I long for those days again!
