I think that the eyeline should remain relatively closed and on the ball for as long as possible to save the body rotation for later. If the eyes get open early, then the chest is pulled open early and you burn your rotation instead of saving it for post impact.
I personally see the butt end of the club coming in from the 4:30 line. I have my clients do what I call point the butt end drill. We point the butt end where it points out beyond the ball not down the target line and I will have them hit half and 3\4 shots making sure they are pointing the butt end out past the ball. Then we simply focus on getting to PV5 with as much speed and velocity as we can control.
