I am working on marrying the transition to mod 3. I realized after reviewing John E. “backswing option video…taking the outside backswing route" (like Trevino) that the arms dropping into the slot and the right knee flexing happens at the same time. For me this puts you in the Mod 1 position to flow into mod 3.
For me, arms dropping , knee flex and all weight onto right foot has to happen together…flowing together. When i can pull it off it gives me the momentum to flow into a powerful Mod 3 move and put a punishing strike on the ball.
I am sure John has mentioned this somewhere in the Mods, but I never put it together.

Are you having a feeling of the figure 8 that we use to be taught ? It was a feeling of going outside wider than usual then dropping into what we call the 4:30 line then we swung out ? I’m not advocating you do this I have simply used this as a way to get really flat in transition. The current obstacle that I perceive that might put a wrench in this now is the goal of creating the orbit pull and going low and left. But I’m so intrigued right now I’m looking forward to getting to the course tomorrow just to give it try.
I am working now off bowing to 430 line at address and just rotating my forearms as much as possible on backswing. I feel like my right palm is facing the sky and holding a bowling ball in the palm. Shoot me a text and i can tell you more. 240-439-0437.
