Can I continue playing everyday if I go all in ABS 2.0 program?

I’m 59 retired and playing most everyday 5.2 index. My current swing is so upright and timing dependent I’m willing to throw the whole thing in the garbage. It’s not uncommon for me to go 72-89 back to back. I’m willing to go all in and train but I need to keep playing and walking, I’m worried it will be counterproductive.

You can keep playing no problem. An upright backswing is ok too, but you’ll probably want to go flatter as you progress through the process. Achieving a 4:30 path and maintaining shaft flex is the goal, the backswing doesn’t matter too much.

I’d also be careful not to flatten your irons too much too soon. If they’re standard lie now, maybe go 2 degrees flat to begin. I imagine you’ll want to eventually get them 4 degrees flat or more as you progress.

When you play, simply having the feeling of holding shaft flex through impact should be enough to keep you out of trouble.

The impact bag and drills will do their thing over time, but keep the swing thoughts simple when you play.

Good luck :in_hole::slightly_smiling_face:

Welcome to ABS.

Continue playing and walking no matter what, and things will come around in due order (no pun intended). I very much like Sawfeat’s suggestions.

Keep playing.

Get yourself onto module 4 hitting the magic trick shots and the drill work won’t seem so alien.

Definitely play everyday that you can life is short so take advantage of anytime on the course. I’m on the course 4-5 days a week myself. But I will add one huge caveat. When you do the module work focus on the dynamic that you are trying to achieve. And when you are on the course don’t think about anything but scoring. After some time the module work will start to blend over into your course play. But if you go to the course thinking about module work it can be a disaster especially if you haven’t incorporated the module work over to hitting balls.

I personally have built a drill system for my juniors and myself that allows us to do module work while hitting balls so the transfer over to the course has shown some extremely good results. One of my 12 year old juniors broke the 9 hole Georgia score in competition shooting a 31 and the person who record she broke was none other than Bubbah Watson who held the junior 9 hole competition record with a score of 32. But again I have incorporated and built drills that allows my players to do the modules while striking balls getting real feedback from ball flight which will always be the best coach in the game.

I’m doing it!

I basically use the mod1 drill as my swing. Club up one or two and throw darts. It’s the best I’ve played to date. Do I struggle not going back to my full OTT steep flip move? YES..but now I know where wrong is and what 430 delivery feels like. I dont even have a full backswing concept yet.still on mod1

Hope that helps
