Thanks
Played real nicely. Enjoyable Nicklaus course that I had never played before this week. reasonably wide in spots from the tee but have to be on the correct side of fairways for angles into the greens. Didn’t hit my driver that well as far as contact wise but irons were fantastic as far as direction and distance control.
16 greens in regulation and left a couple of birdie putts short in the jar too…but no complaints. 13 pars 5 birdies… solid opening day

Good opener!

I still think the 68 you shot with me at Pasa Tiempo on a first look playing persimmon was better! You would have had a two shot lead over there!

Enjoy the week, and keep us posted!

Good work and hope it continues!

Ouch. Some tremendous ballstriking though! It’s been inspirational to follow. Good luck tomorrow!

Happy Australia day brad! Smash the final round!

I am sure you wanted to shoot lower than 75 in the final round but congrats on a great week of balls striking and a top 20 finish.

Bradley is one shot back going into the last round of the Victorian Open Championship. Lets hope he grinds out a low final round and brings home the trophy!

Nice playing!

I had the pleasure of follwing Bradley for the last three rounds. Since the Victorian Open was at a course 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne it was a bit less formal and they did not rope off the fairways allowing spectators to walk with the players and even interact with them from time to time. I must say from a spectator and supporter point of view it was a great experience.

It was a memorable experience to see and hear the quality of ball strike and shot tradjectory from such close quarters in tournament conditions. My intension was stay for one round (2nd) only, but after a 67 to get him into the mix drmanded I stay for another. Then a further 67 to be in 2nd place left me with no option but to potentially share the dream.

In difficult windy conditions my observation was that none of Bradley’s playing partners could match his ball sriking ability from tee to green. He played with some really long hitters but they could not exercute to anything like the quality demanded by the conditions. Even though Bradley mentioned on day three he was sick of playing in so much wind, I believe his shot making capability served him well in the difficult conditions. His distance control onto greens was impressive with pin high puts the norm.

On the last day the conditions were more benign which gave the less skilled players a bit more margin for error and most have good short games which they took advantage of.

Over the three days Bradley putted well with good puts from four to ten feet. He had plenty of kick in birdies inside four feet also. He often lipped out or burned the hole from ten to thirty feet with heaps of stess free tap ins for par. I can only recall a very few puts holed of any length. With a bit of putting luck Bradley could have won the tournament, his ball striking and control were clearly superior to other players remembering he played with the leaders in the last two rounds.

Good luck in New Zealand this week Bradley. I am sure you will be a winner again.

Did anyone see who the lone American in the NZ Open was this week?

Massacre. '74

Whatever the backstory on that, very little stands in the way of a determined competitor finding a way to get into a scrap somewhere, anytime, and age be damned.
The photo gallery showed the course looks like a hard hike.
Great.

Wow. Hale Irwin. I wonder why he entered the event?
