I have been on the hunt for these blades for over a decade when they were released by Miura. They have a very unique sole grind that flat out works for my swing dynamics. They came in with Nippon Modus Tour 115 in them and I played 3 rounds with them but they were a tad light for my liking D1 Swingweight and 14.3 ounces - 15.2 ounces 3 -wedge they were also playing a 1/2 inch shorter than I play my irons.
So I pulled the shafts and installed my go to shaft Dynamic Gold X7s and that beefed them up to D5- D6.5 and total weights of 15.5 - 16.4 ounces. Which turned them into battle Axes that can withstands the vicious post impact motion that ABS promotes.
I lost a few miles per hour but I gained a bigger hammer and also Dynamic loft came down. Before with 7 iron dynamic loft was 30 degrees with the Nppon tour 115s and now with the DG X7s dynamic loft with the same 7 iron is at 24 degrees which added more yardage via more penetrating ball flight.
I also put the clubs back to Miura specs on the loft the previous owner weakened the set by one degree making the 7 iron 35 degrees and I put it back to 34 and gapped the set accordingly with 3 degrees between long irons and 4 degrees for mid to short and a 5 degree gap from 9 @ 42 degrees and PW @ 47 degress. We can discuss in another post why I personally prefer this type of gapping.
The short version is that it ties into my wedge set up of 50 degree, 54 degree and 58 degree. Which allows me to hit Level 1 swings - Level 3 swings with extremely accurate yardage gapping control covering 20 yards up to 125 yards. Get my distance pick out which Level swing then just focus on where I want to land the ball. The less is more concept especially once the player has built their L1-L3 chart.
I will post more results and feedback in a week or so.
Cheers
