Always trying to fine tune it

I’m striking the ball the best I ever have but loosing structure in two key elements.

  1. From mid backswing to top of swing I’m in a good position then the club goes up versus staying flat.
  2. Transition I want the club to drop lower but I stay above the functional swing plane then drop it nicely onto the 4:30 line but I want to be on the line or below the functional swing plane.
  3. I am loosing right arm structure right at at impact unless I am hitting a cut shot then the right arm structure stays nice and close and exits low and left.

I am a draw player by nature and years of hitting my stock draw from the throw and follow concept always rears it’s head even though I’m hitting amazing golf shots I want my same Cut shot trail arm structure to be the same or equal with my draw shot.

From the snaps I see your club moving away abruptly to the inside and that I think is what forces you to lift into P3. Therefore I would suggest trying to keep the club head outside the hands more which might then allow you hands to stay lower and then as the clubs “stills” at the top you’ll feel more drop to the rear pocket. Im a bit rusty and eyes are older so take it with a grain of salt. Hope this helps!

Spot on I analyzed that portion of the swing also last week and it’s actually the culprit because coming inside a tad too fast is part of what is causing the pivot stall later in the swing. The cure is simply adding a little touch of radial deviation to get the clubhead up sooner and also I want the clubhead to be in the V when the head is moving away and up. To the untrained eye this diagnoses might seem odd but the reality is you have to go directly to where the swing breaks down and start the reprogramming at that point and everything along the line will get tighter.

I appreciate your input because it validates what I started working on Sunday once I started feeling better from my surgery.
I have two summer keys I’m working on.

  1. The first 12 inches of the Break-Away.
  2. Getting the target side Hip open earlier
Belt buckle to target before hands get to trail hip.
" Open First , then drop. The ball just gets in the way."
Some personal mantras that will help expidite this yellow light and turn it green.
    Cheers

:+1: I just looked at the position you’re moving through in the second photo and I couldn’t tell which side of the swing you were on until I looked at your feet. Your hands moving I going back is strong as that was Hogans and Knudsons path also. Hogans club head lagged on the takeaway and Lnudaon was very “one piece” which kept the club head on a wider arc. In photo 2 you can see that the club seems to be moving in what would eventually be “across the line” at the top. I think you raise your arms to compensate for that to avoid the forward swing compensations that result. I.used a “lagging hands” drill when I was coming up since I saw Hogan doing it. Just start the hands and feel like the club head drags a bit. If you do it with longer swings pay attention to transition because the club tends to recoil rather than get “still” or take the pressure off. Good luck!

I love that drill it has been years since I have done it but will add it to the regimen for sure. I had some great results about 20+ years ago when I added that sensation

Hope surgery went well and recovery is a cake walk. Keep pluggin’…the ball won’t mind one-bit if’n you do.
