Advanced Ball Striking with juniors

Here is one of my junior scholars that I started on the Advanced Ball Striking system. Moriah just turned 13 and has 8 months of ABS under her belt. She is playing well.

We had the Peggy Kirk Bell two day tournament in Atlanta this past weekend. Saturday the juniors played in non stop rain and Moriah carded a 74 then on Sunday she chased down the leaders and shot a 69 while carding a 7 on number 13 in the process.

I told her that was a very special round carding a 69 on Sunday to win the event and bouncing back from a 7 on a par 4 and not allowing it to disrupt the goal.

What we work on are ABS principles but we use balls for all the drills and we get on the course in every session and I ask her relentlessly what shot are you going to hit. I never ask her about her swing it’s always about the desired shot.

I instruct all my juniors that the ball is the best coach a player will ever have so always start with what did the ball do. Then ask how did I swing the club to make the ball react like that. Next question might be the most important for actually playing golf. What calibration is needed on the next shot ?.

I always want my clients to grasp that the player that can make in round tiny calibrations will always have a chance come sunday.
I’m so proud of this junior scholar
Cheers
