ABS Staff Member Neil Gascoigne wins 3rd Straight Scottish Hickory Open

Neil said the course was extremely difficult… hitting 10 or 12 long irons into greens. Fortunately at ABS we teach long iron play… the acid test of a true golf swing.. sure that came in handy!

No hybrids, frying pans or broomstick putters…

Great stuff Neil!

Im sure it was! I really enjoy the golf courses of those eras. The intent was to challenge the entire repertoire of a golfer.

Looks like a great place! Colt design, par 68, probably quite windy. Extremely well done @NRG! Hoorah!

Yes you da man! Amazing. I would like to get into hickory here but getting the equipment seems so hard. Would have to look at tournaments in the Utah or Mountain West area of USA. Looking good in that pic bro.

Curious as to what ball you use with the hickory era clubs. I want to use a softer ball when I’m using stuff from the 50s to the 70s. I have some hickory clubs but am reluctant to get to hitting them with what seems like top flite rocks
