I just finished up this set of Haigs… ABS Spec, really clean and in nice shape. Offset removed, and set 6 degrees flat. Stiff shafts in great shape… Original leather grips are in great condition. I hit the whole set and every club feels great. This is 2 - 9 and I matched up a Dynapower Button Back PW and set up a Haig SW also to ABS SW spec.

The issue I run into here in the Las Vegas area, is, who is qualified, and has the equipment to “ABS Spec” a set of vintage clubs. Also what were the years, models, and manufacturer’s to look for, in finding the best clubs to “Spec?” I played my best golf, back in the day with Walter Hagen Medallion irons, and woods, but I’m not sure they would be able to Spec them.
Lots of good options for vintage clubs. A number of builders can do irons for you. Adding weight and lies and lofts is normal work. Offset removal is uncommon. Almost no one locally is going to rebore old persimmons flat.
I live up in Utah and can do a set of irons for you if you need. Lag does sets for people and you can message him.
A lot of people around here prefer clubs from the 50’s. Macs and Wilsons are great. I personally prefer the Wilsons from the late 70s to mid 70s. The 50’s stuff is usually heavier by default than later models.
I have a set of Haigs from the late 60s already bent to ABS spec. They don’t have the offset removed that I remember, and have the original stiff shafts. If I remember right, the grips were changed to Mint grips. The lengths are 1/2" shorter than normal. I am in Henderson, though it may take me a few days to get to the clubs.
