I actually played the group ahead or two groups ahead of Paul Lawrie that final day.
I was paired with Davis Love 3 and he shot 68 to climb way up there. Lawrie shot 67 so finished a couple ahead of DL3
My good mate Craig Parry had a triple on 12 when he whiffed from the rough and a double on 17 with a three putt- then holed a bunker shot on 18 whilst playing with Jean VDV to only finish one shot away from playoff.
I played like shit that day- was a wild thing to be part of. Hardest course ever.
I shot 75-71 the first two days and was around top 10. Started Saturday with par par birdie and thought here we go!! Then drove it in the rough on 4 and 5 and couldn’t even get the ball back into the fairway from the lies I had and made double double to push myself out of contention.

How was it to play with DL3 ? I saw him play a few times in person at the Wells Fargo but by that time Tiger and Duval was taking golf to another level and DL3 was doing all he could do just to stick with them.
Funnily enough I had a practice round with DL3 and Mickelson and Glen Day on the Tuesday that week and had already played with him in some tourneys and the Presidents Cup against him.
Had a fun practice round on the Wednesday also with Westwood, McGinley and Woosnam.
