Don’t know who David Lee is…and no never thought about gravity golf…not sure what that is
Another very good segment featuring Two on Ralph’s Gotham Blog.
Posting a swing from NSW Open in 1989 where I finished runner-up behind Rodger Davis…showing my very wide takeaway and late cocking and load giving myself the transition power to load and fire and keep the club behind and up as I was coming down and speeding up to PV5 with some right leg action and torso work

Here’s a slightly different view also from a close up shot for an interview in 1988.
Thought it interesting to look at shoulder turn, rotation, head level (tree is a good guide)

Close up of head movement clipped from the pics above…blue line is drawn horizontal and vertical down the point in the tree for visual reference to see the head go down and backwards

I don’t think it would look like my head would move quite as significantly (visually) from a more level (higher) face on view…but this an interesting angle to view the swing from for reference
I’ve been digging into the swings that I was drawn to when I first started playing- basically Jack and Seve. Anyway I grabbed this still of a Jack swing I found on YT… I knew I’d seen it before, so I put this together… Top notch stuff…

I like that one very much Bom…only 18 majors the difference ![]()
Yep, that’s a couple of good examples of “holding shaft flex, right arm glued to trunk and saved”…
here’s another…

For now… anyway who counting it’s that world class form we like to see and dream about ![]()
Have a safe trip Go get’em !
You’re too kind, Eagle, but regardless, my young self thanks you sincerely…

A mere detail, my man. Or maybe 18 mere details! Good stuff will always be good stuff though, it has no choice…
Keep up the good fight…
Top of backswing…Greg Norman 1982… Bradley Hughes 1983

Pure.
Two, I was just reading over your thread a bit and again, it’s top notch man, thanks for all the insight. I’ve been thinking about it a fair bit lately as I’ve been digging into The Shark’s swing a lot. That drop from the top that you guys had was fairly savage. You looked like you were close to hitting your right shoulder with you driver shaft on occasion, awesome! It’s not dissimilar to John Daly or even Jamie Sadlowski…
Do you by any chance have the video that this sequence was taken from? I’d love to take a look at it, it’s not a view you get to see very often, if at all…
Cheers,
BOM
Got it somewhere on my external drive…will have to pick it out and condense it into a separate video and try make it up…give me a day or so
That would be great, cheers…
These were the swing views from that interview that you wanted to see Bom…it isnt great quality as it was taped on Aussie System then converted to USA system then on to a computer etc etc and is 24 years ago!!
Jimmy put the hurl down, all is forgiven! Thanks for that man, great stuff.
I love looking at contrasts of changes in form from positions back and down. The transformation of everything else with the left arm in the same spot is pretty cool.

You know what will be funny about that pic…
Is when I eventually went for a coach (approx 5-6 years later)…my swing would change to an early set back and a loss of lag angle down… sort of like this

Disappointing now as I look back… because I knew it didn’t feel right but at the time I didn’t know my swing visually to know otherwise as I never watched it on video…and was given poor advice based on what ingredients really made my swing tick… the long wide late setting takeaway being a major ingredient…once it was gone, I lost my swing speed and legwork
Yeah, the ‘Leadworser’ got Els doing the same shite and he’s been casting it out more than a fisherman for the last 10 years. His main thought growing up and into his prime was ‘low and slow’ going back. It’s that seductive path of trying to get there too early, it’s sad. Sounds like you’re back on track now, and considering that video is from 24 years ago, those C Tour guys may want to watch their backs in the not too distant future!
I remember you talking about something to do with leaving the club up there during transition at the top. Am I right in remembering that? Can you elaborate a bit on that feeling if you know what I’m talking about?
Cheers…
