TRGA BASICS (Traditional Rules of Golf)

I agree the more we talk about this the more I wonder why hasn’t another body been formed to challenge them. The USGA & R&A are really making golf much harder to enjoy. And they allowed equipment to get totally out of hand for professional players. The master fitter that was with Taylormade for 30 years said that rank and file players should be able to play whatever they want but tour players should be restricted to very specific equipment.

What was the reasoning behind the rule in TRGA for allowing players to give advice during a round to each other ?

Pro vs Amateur….

Softball is the the amateur version of baseball. No softball player believes they are playing major league ball. Same with golf if folks are really honest about it.

Pass the TRGA one page rule sheet around.. and let people decide which rules they want to play by. For most it would be simple. Once you play a few rounds with TRGA, it feels silly to consider USGA Rules… unless you are playing in one of their specific events.

Freedom of speech, choice and decision. Someone gives advice? Good? Bad?
If I go over to a player and tell them to hit driver off the tee when they should hit a 1 iron.. should someone get penalized? What other sport has a ban on “advice”?

The USGA has been out of control for a long time…. unquestioned.. and just left to run wild and irresponsible.
