John spot on what I have found that is working for me is feeling that my target side shoulder is staying closed very very deep into the swing. It feels like the longer I stay closed the harder I can hit.
Yes, this is correct… but as we find… it requires our post impact pivot thrust (Hogan explosion into finish) to pick up the responsibility. It all has to be working together….
Spot on the more I do the modules and the juniors do the modules the more it reveals just how synergisticaly the flow between them truly is
Pure old school. Bushes instead of Trackman. Love it. ![]()
The Trackman is convenient for spin rates… but I used to just play 6 balls into a green… three with one ball type and three with another. I’d hit an 8 iron… or 5 iron and then just look at the pitch marks and see what the balls did. Did they spin back? Release? Were all three longer than the other brand?
It wouldn’t take long to figure it out. I could do a pretty thorough testing in an afternoon… just hitting shots into greens and taking notes. I think this way was much better actually because it was really grounded in reality. Even how a ball would fly in wind condition. I don’t think the Trackman would give correct feedback on that.
After a hard Hogan Module Workout… wanted to check things without a ball… nicely surprised to see a great impact alignment without a golf ball…shaft being pressured all the way to the strike..
If you look really closely, you can see the slight clockwise rotation of the right foot through shaft tripping and transition….
Wowwwww
Looks awesome. The latest of late hits. That clubhead travels a crazy distance in those last couple frames. Really picking up speed.
What stands out to me as a professional coach is your trail arm structure it’s on the elite level being in the percentage of 70-90% angle of trail arm bend which is excellent whereas most amateur golfers trail arm bend angles are between 100-115 degree bends which totally wrecks lead arm abduction. It has been one of my biggest teaching keys the last 5-10 years how I educate clients to pay more attention to the trail arm bend in order to create a much more powerful strike at impact.
Cheers
Looks solid as always Lag. Believe it, or not, there are large forum sites claiming, even from professional staff hanging their shingles there, that practice swings without a ball are a general waste of time since it doesn’t engage a hit impulse.
It’s an amazingly ridiculous claim painted with a very broad brush.
Nice club, can one purchase those at Meijers? ![]()
Swinging a club without a ball is a great process to go through. I used to just take divots on the range without hitting balls. I would try to take 5 divots that all looked the same in depth and shape.
In this case with a driver, I strive to accelerate through the “strike” or in this case “lowpoint”. If I can properly increase velocity beyond lowpoint, then we should see the vapor trail of holding shaft flex.. which I was able to demonstrate in this clip. Despite all the naysayers who only believe in a swinger’s protocol, it can be done. The Hogan Modules promote this in particular.
