@BENJI-GOLF , the Hogan Modules are going well for me.
It’s a lot of work. But definitely well worth it. I recommend the Hogan modules if one seriously is willing to work on it and learn a new, different way to strike the golf ball. (i.e. don’t underestimate that, it will take time, effort, patience, and trust in the process). It’s definitely helped that I had 2 full years of working on base ABS modules as a foundation.
The Hogan Modules concept of tripping the shaft simultaneously with the other factors (free ride down and, weight transfer) , then leading to delaying the body rotation as late as possible, then the essential post-impact-pivot, all with the purpose of holding shaft flex through and beyond the strike…, these combinations are what I’ve found most transformative (so far).
I’m far from being really good at these to my satisfaction yet, but it’s progressing. Certainly my ball-striking even at age 67 is better than it has ever been (even though my swing speed is much slower than years gone by!).
Awesome stuff John. I started just a little before you. You might have more reps than me but I did the ABS modules as a foundation and now onto the Hogan modules. I ditto everything you said.
I played old school tight short course today where two holes are 40-45 yards wide with OB left/trees right and trees/OB left and water right. These holes before ABS would give me fits. Now it’s so much fun to tighten the screws and pipeline it. Went thru the fairway with 3 wood today so getting longer. Drills Hogan but don’t think I am gaming the table top and trip yet but leaking slowly into my game. Only 2nd 9 holes this year to btw. Before ABS l stayed away from these courses and would need a whole bunch of range time and playing before having any chance of hitting those fairways. It’s funny how I used to think it was lack of confidence and relaxation and letting it go…..yes for swingers.
Tighter courses are harder courses. That’s why the tour rarely plays them. We learn to play the harder courses. Really what Advanced Ball Striking is all about. Ball control…
