I think the author of that video is Darius from over on WRX via Poland. He is a super nice guy though I can’t really wrap my head around a lot he is talking about. Not sure about the end of the Hogan swing being characterised by inertia “pulling the club up and around.” If Lag it right what defines Hogan is acceleration post impact.
I’m new to ABS and am very excited to be learning with everyone in these forums. I love your stories about you and Greg Norman. It’s great to see where your inspiration comes from.
Just by way of introduction, my name is Dan, from Brooklyn, NY. I don’t have a car and have to use the subway to get to the range and golf courses (and consequently have made Dyker Beach Golf Course in Brooklyn off the R train my home)! But I’m fanatical about golf, so much so that I built an indoor driving range in my apt where I can hit full swings up to 5 iron into a futon. A month ago, I missed a 6i low and left and it ricocheted off my futon frame and hit me square in the forehead. Five stitches later and a lot of "I told you so"s, I’m back at it again in my apt starting with Module 1! Shoot, if shaun white quit snowboarding after every fall where would he be?
Anyway, hi all and thanks for making yourself available to us, Brad.
Welcome Dan,
That story is a great indication of your desire for golf… hopefully the ABS program will help keep those stitches to a minimum !!!
Any questions just plonk them down and I will try help with some insight.
I am glad you enjoyed some of my stories. It’s kind of nice to be able to share some things with others that may never get the opportunity to get as close up and as personal as I have been fortunate enough to be able to do with so many of the world’s greatest golfers. Hopefully some of those are inspiration enough for some of you guys to one day get to write your own great stories.
Bradley (or anyone else)-where can I find the post where Bradley described his chipping/pitching technique? I know that I read it last year, and now that the weather is better, I can’t find it. Help!!!
Bradley, Lag asked me to introduce myself to you as I am a new student, as of last weekend. I reviewed the Module 1 video and the bag drill, posted my first video to John last night. How soon do we get feedback after we post a video?
Dan,
Welcome to ABS! I can’t help but ask, is it activities like setting up a driving range in your apartment that compelled you to go by the moniker "scarface’? You sound like a character who won’t be stopped by a few stitches. You have come to a great place: great people, great golf instruction, great support. Best of luck.
Let me introduce myself to you.
I just joined the ABS about 10ays and posted about myself on “Student-introduce yourselves” forum yesterday.
Since joining, I have been watching the M1 and its supplement videos few times and trying to read as much as I can on M1.
The M1 and Supp videos are already eye-opening.
After watching them few times, I have taken few practice swings.
In the beginning, it felt very awkward to put the club on the 4:30 line, but one you know how to drop the club to the 4:30 line.
WHAO!!! It all makes sense to have a cupped left wrist and flat shoulder turn.
It is much easier position to apply grand force with such the turn.
I maybe wrong, but I think many good things are already happing.
I will be asking you few questions in near future. So, I would like to thank you before hands.
Welcome t-spoon.
Nice to have a student from Japan join us.
I played a lot of golf in Japan in the early 90’s with Jumbo and Meshiai and Nakajima and many others and even Maruyama when he was starting out. Lots of good golfers from your country and they all couldn’t have have been nicer to a ‘gaijin’ who didn’t have a great grasp on the language.
We look forward to helping you out and you will have a blast learning what myself and Lag believe to be the correct sequence and principles of the swing to allow us to play to our full potential
Have you ever played at Glen Oaks or Oak Hill out near Narita? They were my clubs that I represented and played at and lived at when I was up there.

Do yourself a fvour. If you have to hit balls indoors, buy those yellow foam balls (I buy mine at Walmart in Canada) they are ok to satisfy the itch and wont hurt you.
Macs
I have not yet played those two courses but both are well known around here.
I could not have a chance to watch you on TV since I was in the US in that time.
Jumbo san is 62 years old but still trying to play in the regular tour. Amazing!
Meshiai san is playing well at the senior tour.
Maruyama won the last major of the year, Japan Open in 2009. He suffered from a Driver Yips for a long time.
He could not get used to a large head titanium driver which eventually caused him the yips.
Now, he uses 330cc or less head for his driver and won the Japan Open.
I return to Japan in the fall of 1996 and I returned to Golf about 3 years ago after over 10 years of layoff.
I re-stared my golf with S&T in Apr 1997. In Dec 2007, I had an opportunity to participate Mac’s 3 days school in Narita.
Mac was amazing to watch!!! I wished I had more TGM background when I took Mac’s school.
Mac is very hard to get hold of, so I had to go back to S&T.
But, I was not really comfortable with the S&T protocol and started to study TGM since MORAD was based upon it.
I converted to a TGM hitter last Summer and was hitting well with it.
About a year ago, Richie3Jack’s Blog led me to Lag’s Golfing Machine on ISEEKGOLF.
I purchased HG Apex and Macgregor woods thought ebay and was ready to join ABS in the last Sep but …
After seeing those M1 & Supp videos, I can assure myself that I am in the right place.
The 4:30 line, Cupped left wrist, & Flat Shoulder Turn, Lower gravity and so on, Lag talked about, made sense to me.
I could feel them already in my practice swing. I feel more I open the face at P3: 4:30.
I can go hard at more. Is this the right feeling?
I am Just in M1 for a few days but very excited to join and learn from the ABS program.
Welcome t-spoon! You haven’t seen anything yet. It’s eye-opening stuff and with the format, you’ll be changing your pattern in a subtle fashion as your knowledge grows.
Glen Oaks and Oak Hill? I would have thought the names for courses in Japan would be more like “Golden Dragon” or “Flowering Plum Tree”!
Brad,
I only quickly scanned a few pages of the book that you’ve uploaded today in the equipment section, and want to say THANK YOU! Very informative stuff. Really appreciate it. Viva ABS!
Russ
I’ve taken the plunge and signed up for the first three modules. My best ball striking was when you were helping me last year, and it has been slowly slipping away. I hope this gets me back on track and beyond where I was.
